    SWA Growing

Not sure that anything has changed in the way they contact you for class... the standard way has always been that the chief pilot calls you, typically from the base nearest to where you live, and invites you to class on such and such date. I'd call Kim U and find out if indeed you are in for...

    SWA Growing

With over 200 rooms a night in Vegas you'd have to think it's be Vegas? But, I've been wrong before.

    Look Out Southwest...Here Comes JetBlue

Big or small aircraft? If it's big then they may have some impact on the SWA flight leaving on or about the same time, but I doubt it... me thinks a small plane. RJ

Heads up whenever AA MD80s are landing

Ahh, I'd forget it and just wait until you upgrade, but that could take forever.:crying: Why bother with it... if you tell the guy you're flying with about your thoughts on landing light configuration and he decides to blow you off, welp, you told him and the NTSB will make you a hero. This...

Heads up whenever AA MD80s are landing

aa73, What are your (AA's) requirement when crossing a runway while taxiing ... lights on or off? I always thought ALL lights on for T/O and Landing. Aren't the "wing landing lights" landing lights? Must be missing something here. RJ

    ATL Area Seaplane Pilots

Contact the local police department and check. Also, if you belong to Seaplane Pilots Association they can tell you. Another rule of thumb, if the river or lake is considered a "Navigable Water Way" you can land and takeoff at you leasure. RJ

SWA pilot turns down FedEx? Tell me more...

FlyBoeingJets, I'm not understanding what your trying to say or do here. So he turned FedEx down, who fricken cares! Maybe it (FedEx) wasn't for him and SWA is. Throwing in the SWA treats employees great and the ALPA contract thing isn't necessary. You'll stir up the pot and bad juju will...

    SWA Pool update

For those of you who tend to give up and be pissed off after the rejection letter, then come on Flightinfo and blast SWA and throwing in the towel, heres a person who simply kept coming back, waiting his time between interview's. The definition on determination is WakeTurb. Way to go and...

Southwest Says Planes Could Not Land Without Air Traffic Control

Question: Was the tower closed even before they left to head up to PVD or did it close enroute? If it was closed prior, why did they leave knowing the WX was so low if they knew it was closed? You see, I think a lot of variables play into this and WE don't know those variables. Does the tower...

Southwest Says Planes Could Not Land Without Air Traffic Control

Hmm, what's the definition of auger? Home Despot: You searched for "auger". Earthquake Earth Auger 10" $129.00 About the price of a ticket eh? Last time I looked SWA has never augered one in, maybe had a few times that we couldn't get em stopped, but auger?

    ALPA Unit 2

That seems to be an ongoing argument of mine, why ATC tells me how to fly the plane. To answer your question... NO! I want to know... why do we thank them all the time? I rarely thank them, for crying out loud, we are paying their bills.

    ALPA Unit 2

ATC does it all the time ... and they aint in d'back.

    SWA FO's

A checkairman is a line pilot until he's giving IOE's, checkrides, and line checks... so yes you can get a line with a checkairman. If the checkairman you are flying with has to do an IOE you are given those days off with pay not to fly. I do not believe the 30-7 rule kicks in so you can pick...

Southwest PROFIT 1 QTR - BABY!!!!!!!!

These aircraft deliveries need a careful examination so as to consider these retiring -300's. I've flown some -300's that seriously need to be retired sooner rather than later. RJ

    AA now wants costs cuts

Didn't some of the upper management types get a big bonus. How about the Love Field exercise in losing money. It makes me wonder... now they want more savings and they want it from the work force. This is how you run an airline, right? I got now.

Look! A plane takes off from a moving runway

I have actually done this. It was a long time ago with a J3 Cub and off a grass strip. Just enough gas to get it to the Rock River.
