Or how about the possibility that even though things are not great at the legacies right now, they are still far better than the current operations we fly for?????
Well, for the time being, they are just distributing all of the DTW pilots throughout the rest of the bases. I'm sure there will be a bunch of downgrades, and such. The CEO stated that we lost a bunch of MLT flying and rumor mill has it that NW has about sealed the deal with the NBA. Kinda tough...
As the interpretation of the rule itself is relatively new, and this interpretation is misunderstood by the controller in this case, it seems that a call to the facility to clarify this scenario would be in order. There certainly is no reason to get into a discussion over the freq. Might as well...
We had heard that over here at Champion as well. And it may definitely have some validity as I just received my "Base Closure Notice" from Champion management. Yep, DTW is no longer a base for Champion effective October 1st...
October is going to be a quiet month around DTW. First Spirit, now...
Yeah, when I worked at XJ, we very rarely were able to take anyone in the physical jumpseat. If you needed to ride up front, you weren't getting on at all, as we were probably weight critical.
I just sat next to a very nice gentleman on my flight home tonight who works for Lockheed Martin as a manager / engineer on the F-35. He had nothing but very high remarks for the aircraft. Granted, it's the aircraft he works on... But from what I heard, it's a very impressive piece of equipment.
Thanks man! Geez, it's been a long time since I've seen you... Good to hear life's still treatin' ya alright. I thought I heard you were looking at moving to the 75-75???
Well, ya know... The flight sim has been gettin' it's workout!
Cya!
I'm also at the bottom of the barrel as an FO and the call out is 1 1/2 hours. QOL, well, you get some and you lose some... Good days, and not so good days. Like any other job, I guess...
For any of you who are curious to see what everyone is talkin' about, check out this picture....

Just aft and below the flight deck windows.....
Contract negotiations??? That requires both parties to actually negotiate, right? Well, I talked to our negotiators a couple of days ago and I was told that negotiations haven't moved an inch. The company refuses to negotiate... Imagine that... Typical Champion (aka Northwest) management....
You shouldn't have a problem getting one of those bases... But there's a big assumption that Champion will be able to hire 40 FE's this year... Champion really doesn't offer much, especially when compared with other companies that are hiring right now...
It totally depends on a bunch of things... But you won't be bidding the 20 or 21 day off lines anytime soon... Upgrade depends on your base... Do a search, Champion come us every couple of months...

That depends a lot on which base you have... I don't know where you were during the NBA season, but I live in base and it was not fun at all...
As for the contract, that is all yet to be seen... This management team is a typical Northwest "cronie" team... Things will get very ugly before they...
