Funny how they Never mention what the landscape would look like under a DOH list should there be additional furloughs down the road (always just around the corner in this industry). Your C & R's don't mean squat without an equal sharing of the pain in that scenario ya jackwagons.
Been in the school house for a bit now. All previously mentioned new hires the company plans on bringing aboard next year will be for the east operation due to the companies interpretation of the new rest rules and how they'll affect international and IRO staffing......no love for the west again.
Pass rate on the west side is pretty low but we're comparing apples to oranges here. Furloughed west crews will be coming back to 5 year pay on airbus/73/75 rates while east crews going back are on 1-2 year pay (I'm guessing) on the E-190. As pathetic as the 190 rates are, it's not surprising...

Sorry. I'm a west pilot and I don't have much sympathy for the "cactus 18". These individuals engaged in childish behavior and are now asking us to support their actions by sending money to help defend them. I can't preach to my son how to be a respectable law abiding citizen and then turn...
My apologies. This is the REAL saabslime and I didn't actually post the "thank you drive through" comment. But that's what I get for not logging out of the hotel computer and having some juvenile idiot use my handle.......
The only way furloughes will be adjusted is if one of the carriers who plan these big capacity cuts blinks and revises those cuts lower. Then all the others will trip over themselves revising their cuts in the name of maintaining market-share.
My guess is with oil swinging as wildly as it...
They obviously don't want furloughed or soon to be furloughed 121 guys. I got the same "thanks but no" response before any phone interview. Over 9000 hours, 7000 jet of which 3000 is in citations and lears. Pretty hard to convince someone you have no plans on going back to the airlines when...
Don't worry, pretty soon there won't be a US Airways to complain about. This is just another desperate act from a company that's in real trouble but continues to blow sunshine up the employee's and public's ass about how well positioned they are to "weather" the current environment. They're...
For the bottom 150 or so guys on the west side, time to start dusting off those resume's (I'm sure most of you have already come to this conclusion). I had a checkairman on the j/s doing a line check and he said the "rumor" with a wink of his eye is roughly 150 or so within the next "few"...
That's all good but have you done any research into what that all electric is going to cost you in repair bills once it needs fixing or new batts? All your initial cost savings just went out the door.
Are you f-ing serious. You're suggesting that professional adult's are going to call in sick or something because they didn't get what they wanted through a democratic process? What exactly is that supposed to accomplish and who is all the anger being directed at in the scenario you describe...
The U.S. District judge in New York recently dismissed the MDA lawsuit that was filed in 2005 over the terms and conditions of employment of the MDA pilots. Several claims were dismissed on their merits, while others were dismissed because the statute of limitations had run out before their...
I'm a human being not a f-ng robot. If I need to yawn I'm damn sure not going to worry about if I'm doing it in front of passengers or not. Personally I think all this garbage about looking/being professional and putting yourself up on a plateau in front of the traveling public stems mostly...
I've gone so far as to log one line in the master-log for the totals in one "little" daily logbook (maroon, black, or blue ones). I keep a running total in the little ones which has leg by leg details then transfer all the total times for night, instrument, etc. I keep them sequentially...
Couldn't we petition the company to have any profit sharing deposited directly to 401k accounts? I'm no tax lawyer but I believe if you then withdraw the money from that account the tax hit would be much less. Anyone know for sure?
