I disagree, I think ALPA was once a great union, and still is when it comes to safety related stuff. I think they could do better with rest requirements, but all in all good stuff.
The problem comes in with recent history, when the top tier of ALPA brass changed the rules to keep their pay up...
No not at all, but one must blame this on the guilty party.
I know it's the "thing to do" on this board to blame USAPA for everything, but this flow proposal, if it is accurate, had nothing to do with USAPA. They along with the WO guys in attendance, basically just listened to the company.
I was just sitting here reading this stuff and I had to chuckle.
This same individual, that paid for his job, thereby preventing another pilot from being hired. He directly lined the pockets of management and the expense of another pilot, has the nerve to throw around the word scab.
lets see, I proposed solutions that the East and West(according to your claims) could live with, and you retort with that.
A. You are being less than honest about the West desire for East positions.
B. you just want to cash that lottery ticket, to heck with everything and everybody else.
Nic is...
I answered this in another post, please take the time to read it. I will be waiting for your next reason on how the East is stealing your job.
I was not furloughed at the time of the merger, I was furloughed in May, 06.
I am of the opinion that if the fences are up, the furloughs should come from the side that had the cuts. So if cuts are made East than the furloughs should be East pilots, and it should remain that way until the fences are down.
So what is your next excuse about how the East wants your job?
Fine lets say you are 100% correct and a huge number of East pilots want to come West. FENCE THEM OUT! usapa already stated the West could "name their fences"
Bottom line is, all i hear is rhetoric about how the East is stealing jobs, but the West is not willing to do the one thing that would...
When in 10 years the seniority list looks exactly like the one you are so afraid of in reverse.
That is why attrition needed to play a role, it wasn't, so in 10 years the West will hold the majority of the Captain spots. Again this is the exact scenario that everyone out West is so up in arms...
And this relates to sending feces through the mail, and phone bills how?
I don't, I think those positions should be protected by fences
Buying a job, is the same thing as voting for a new union..... ok no need to comment on that
ok tough guy you got me, phl is a mess.
And yes it is clear...
First, I dont think you should lessen the honor of our founding fathers by including any comparison of this crap, with what they did.
On another note, How the heck do you figure a 330 Captain position in phl is rightfully a West pilots position?
The only conclusion I can come up with, is that...
Your numbers are old the East is already down to 206 with the min fleet (East) at 202. That number includes the previously announced cuts, that may be why we have different numbers.
None, Nic has not been used.
Scared? I must disagree on that count. USAPA had no choice, what were they to do, nothing? Running up phone bills was bad enough, but using the safety hotline for this crap had to stop.
you are correct, those East pilots should have just all given up their seats to the West and gone away. And since they didn't do that the new union should just allow every attack possible by any one of the numerous Internet tough guys to slowly drain resources. How dare they try and stop...
If the environmental and work rules and pay were equal I would agree with you 100%.
They are not. This "global economy" crap is just that. The only people that are making money in this scheme is the CEO and his friends. The average American is being robbed into servitude. There is no way an...
competition? Every other month their was a new Airline du jour popping up, with their introductory airfares. All these new airlines sucked the life out of the legacy carriers who could only cut service and employees to try and compete. Americans wanted 39.00 airfares? well they got em. Now...
