Mesa Airlines Is Bankrupt!
In a move that comes as no surprise to anyone, Mesa Airlines has filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. The company is reportedly losing 1.4 Billion dollars for every hour it keeps it's doors open.
Luckily for Mesa Airlines ...
DC9 Economics
Glen Hauenstein (Jul 9, 2008 2:17:37 PM)
The DC9 is a very interesting airplane in that its size fills a large void in the DL network. We currently go from 75 seat regional jet to a 141 seat MD88 with nothing in-between. The number of DC9's we can effectively use will depend on...
Alternatively, you could get interview experience at McDonald's and not have to give up any dignity as a result.

What Carter left us with is a mess.....
It is simply a failure, by all accounts.... You can't attract investors to put their bucks in an industry that continuously and consistently loses money as much an airlines do. Something will have to happen or the industry will collapse.
-Here is a hint...
Long Call
Is there such a thing as Long call - Call me last?? If so, is anyone being called?? How does the current long call system work? I have been on MLOA for a while so I have been out of the loop.
Thanks!
Tim
Sort of a bump!
AFAIK, those other flights are meaningless. You can't list for them or order tickets via travelnet. The seat availability is also (almost) meaningless; it is just an indicator of tickets available in a certain fare class (probably says 9/9, or something like that, yes?
I am...
Has anyone have had any experience with a connencting flight (not a delta carrier) listed in travelnet? I am heading to SJD and getting back may be an issue. There is a two leg route through MEX on Aeromexico and connecting with Delta which is wide open. Has anyone done this before through...
It's called AIDS
Lots of airline pilots have this. THere is now cure for it. No immunization, or pill you can take. It is spreading and is very insidious.
It is Airline Induced Devorce Syndrome ;)
All your base are belong to Delta!
After the SLC and LAX fiasco, I seriously doubt there will be a base there at all. My guess is we will be there long enough for Delta to reroute all of its future passengers and help lighten the inpact and then cancell all or most of our flying into and out of...
I just got a notice from a buddy who stated that MLOA guys are back in CASS. I looked up my CASS account and sure enough I was listed as "active". That is good news as I couldnt even jump on my own companies aircraft without going through a huge nut roll.
Good luck!
Tim
Thankfully some of the instructors are succumbing to the political pressure to just "get em thru".......
John, what do you mean by this? Did you mean "NOT succumbing"??
Tim
Sorry!
Well Capt Oveture, thanks for the info. I have been under an MLOA rock for several years and dont get on ourasa that much. I will read the print. I just havent thought about it at all as I have been very busy enjoying the sites here in the armpit of the U.S.
I was non reving to wonderfull Ft Hood this morning and a Freedom FA was on board. She was listed as an S3C. Can we as ASA non rev on any carrier that flies for Delta or Delta Connection or can those carriers fly on us because Delta owns the seats??
If we can non rev on those carriers, which...
ZED's Comming!
So, if Delta did do this, would we go to a Delta counter to buy or an ASA counter. I guess it would be Delta as there are no ASA counters (I think) in ATL. That will be great if it is true.
Well, I need to start using the ID% but don' really understand the dif here. When would you use any one over the other. Obviously the ID95 is the way to go, but I assume they are not always available. I am going to use AA out of DFW. I can't JS as I am on an extended MLOA and am not authorized...
