Hey buscap, relax. As I said in my previous post, I'm a former ASA pilot who doesn't want to see his friends still there get screwed. I was there when DALPA wanted to staple us to solve the problem but the ASA MEC decided that was unfair and demanded DOH/relative seniority/ALPA M&A Policy. Then...
If you guys don't all get on one list, you're better off going on your own. Somebody is going to lose on this deal. If you stay together it'll get evened out and everyone will be able to shift around with minimal lose. If not, you'll be better off on your own and have a 1 out of 3 chance of...
CAL-UAL Anti-RJ Proposal
Has anyone seen this article? As a former ASA pilot with concern for friends still there, all I can say is you better all get on the same page. Not just ASA and Express Jet, but Skywest also. I know Skywest thinks they're to good and are better off on their own, but...
I'm really getting tired of people missing the point. An ATP is a time requirement, not an experience or knowledge requirement. Every airline flight that has crashed has had an ATP at the command. So obviously, an ATP won't resolve the issue. How 'bout we start making it possible for companies...
Do you guys sell liquor on your plane? What happens if the person you sold liquor to crashes on his drive home? I guess it's ok if you profit from it. Liability has nothing to do with it, it's about a bean counter willing to get rid of a tradition and sell out company morale for the possibility...
414Flyer,
Yes I did do the freight dawgin before I went to a regional. I couldn't agree more with you. The experience I got out of that was definitely invaluable. But my point is, how many freight dawgs do you here crashing? I'm not saying it doesn't happen. But I don't think the ATP requirement...
St. Nic:
Here's 3 of the NTSB findings to factors that led to the USAir crash of flight 1016 killing 37 people outside of Charlotte:
The flight crew's decision to continue the approach in a severe thunderstorm
The failure of the flight crew to recognize wind shear quickly
The failure of the...
What would requiring 1500TT really do? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I do believe both pilots in the Colgan crash had over 1500 hours. How many hours did the NW crew have that overshot the airport? How many hours did the DL crew have that landed on the taxi way? Nobody died in those two examples...
"Extreme under compensated bottom feeder's and detriments to this career from the Republic cartel almost take out NWA at LAX; this is a true dangerous near accident...."
Maybe they thought DL/NW was taking off on the taxiway so they were heading to the runway where it was safe.
If only the...
Maybe you guys could start pursuing "one list" again. Put those union funds to work on something other then furlough pay. I just don't see Skywest Inc. giving ASA a chance if it will hurt the "favorite child".
Why would ALPA want Republic? If they take in Republic, they would screw Delta and Continental. When Comair and ASA asked for one list with Delta, ALPA said "NO" the merger and acquisition policy didn't apply because of no common equipment. If they let Republic in with one seniority list...
It's not necessarily a mistake. I've been weight restricted a few times and told the ramper we couldn't take any more bags. Then I've seen the cargo door light come on and off, I've asked him if they put more bags on and they've said no. I've counted the bags after and guess what? There was more...
None of it is that hard. Everybody that comes here already has at least 1300 hrs PIC. Volaris has only been in business for 2 years. I bet most of our FO's have just as much international experience, if not more, then many of the Volaris crews. Furthermore, West Jet...Ok, They're established...

WASHINGTON — The agency overseeing security at the nation's airports failed for years to track security passes and uniforms of former employees, creating widespread vulnerability to terrorists, says a government watchdog report obtained by USA TODAY.

So in other words...NOTHING. To the XJ guys complaining about losing their LAX base, I feel your pain. I remember the way it felt when I had to move out of there because we lost our base when YOU took it from us.
