It's not an excuse. Just reality. When you buy new things that aren't on the market yet, sometimes there are hold ups that are not your fault. They probably should never have said anything and just surprised everyone one day. But, then what would everyone have to complain about.
Oh, everyone's frustrations here are warranted somewhat. But the facts on how things get done are usually different than the ones people assume. The biggest hold ups in these instances, like acars, EFB's, etc are not a bunch of unenthusiastic dolts at the GO. It's actually quite opposite...
Well, I meant by the start of May. April is scheduled to be the go date. It will take time to get them handed out, etc...so I said May. But, go with October to be safe, if that makes everyone feel better.
Rumors.
Keeping/Getting 200 flying to pick up 9E slack. This would only come at newly negotiated/profitable rates. Delta is in the business to make a profit. ....so is XJT.
Possible 900 flying.
That's it.
Bottom line on the CPA's. Inc THOUGHT (Erroneously) that it would get a JCBA in 6-12 months, and that it would refleet the emb145's with larger aircraft. Neither hapened, and now look where we are.
One contract also means single list. If one side (or the other) is to be downsized, the pilots on the other half will potentially be slaughtered on seniority.
PSA is former Jetstream Airlines out of Dayton, Ohio. Became PSA when becoming a wholly owned subsidery of USAirways, and took the name of an old airline that was merged into the USAir group....much like Allegheny and Piedmont, having nothing to do with their former namesakes.
This is completely not true. The ROI is well below what is required by Skywest bean counters, not even including some OJI cost savings. The holdup as of today is that we started the 6 months testing for the ipad, and have switched to the Surface Pro. The FAA is not allowing the months of ipad...
It wasn't the snow that was the problem. The snow melted on the roads and froze to an inch+ of ice. That and the fact that this all started from 3-5 pm as school was getting out and people were all leaving work.
