STD is a blue jet con. Remember the the PCG report. It mocked ALPA carriers for not providing STD plan to its employees. Well these pilot groups, NWA for instance, had 1200 hour sick banks and LTD plan will a 30 day elimination period.

Why would they need a STD?

You have to apply a formula since it's based on your earnings, so a simple dollar figure isn't available. And they adjust the premiums periodically (more often than yearly) to match your coverage with your actual earnings. The premium ends up being something like 0.75% to 1% of your gross earnings, though, so it ain't cheap.

It's the passive aggressive bomb throwing that I don't like. It's quite obvious where I stand when I post. You however throw out subjects that are refuted and then you don't respond. Most responses have been factual, often times providing great information. Tell us, be honest, why do you support the DR?
