Oh poor lil FO GL,

He was spoken to by the FI moderators on toning it down ...and it lasted five days..yawn.

I have absolutely no problem with American tax dollars (I also pay US tax ...ehh..after I pocket my first $100k tax free in salary and my $55000 tax free in housing allowance under IRS 2555...into my US FDIC bank account) ...demanding that their troops fly American carriers...

Anyhow not sure where they would fit...we're full every flight...BOS bout to come too, great stuff.

I also think that DAL is a good gig...and I would go back to DAL in a heartbeat if they they start to hire DECs into the LHS of a 777...and before you get menopausal on me...

Plenty of DAL, US, AA, NWA, CAL (in fairness to SWA - not one ex LUV Capt came to EK DEC unlike like all the majors mentioned - I digress) guys who paid their ALPA dues over the years and no doubt spouted off (just like you) on scabs, RJ guys stealing our jobs, LCC guys lowering the bar, SWA guys PFT, foreign carriers taking our turf....who pitched up at EK for their final years as DECs...about as principled as your FI etiquette is..

Moving on ...good ole American employment is about to get a major boost with the pending order from Emirates for the 777x...

Back to Lucille and your 'footrest' (tell me that rumor is not true) for ur lil hop across the pond...

Poor lil FO GL

What's it to ya??? Huh? Just asking about the biggest proponent of EK now leaving, which is a surprise to anyone who has read his posts over the years. Quit getting cocky. Not everyone at your airline loves it. An Aussie pilot at your airline gave me an earful a few months ago in HNL about things, and said if it got worse he'd probably leave. In the meantime, enjoy the NRT to MSP commute and the allnighter cargo runs out of Okinawa. You're awesome!

Bye Bye---General Lee

He doesn't have to explain himself to you, just the fact that you feel entitled to an explanation is sad in itself...! Sorry that you are hurt that instead of going to the paradise on earth that is DAL, he chose another job abroad, what an opportunity you lost for some ammo hum? Regrettable. An Aussie told you hum? Let me tell you a little about the way Aussies pensive life, they can have the best seafood dinner, cooked by a supermodel and during sex afterwards they will complain to her about colors of the plates.....! Nobody lives in paradise while at work, do you? honestly? I know you like to talk about your Sundays (I don't know how can you eat any of the food at DAL quite frankly) but you forget that I have a LOT of friends at DAL, I know exactly how it is there and not all the rosters and QOL is peachy in all the equipments. Enjoy your red eyes to the west coast and the dog food, you're extra awesome...!

And BTW, regardless of how many recommendations I could amount to go to DAL, the day that I decide to move on from here, I won't go to DAL either, can't live the ret of my carrer popping antiacids.....! LOL!

I think you found a soft spot there fv, funny how he has a "junior high"response to everyone's posts but he ignore yours..! Interesting...! It must be unbearable for him that there are people that leave the majors to take jobs abroad, like the guys working here that gave back their seniority at DAL to stay here doing night freight to Okinawa. The fact that someone will leave a job at EK, EY, AJX or NCA but instead of ridding the hiring wave running back to a US major, they choose to go for one of those juicy gigs that are popping up here and there, man that must be hard to take....! The fact that I get a lot of PM's from guys at majors asking about the expat market must be very hard to swallow, can you imagine? Someone that is not really interested in being based at de toilet or hotlanta? That just can't be..! Can it?

Hahaha. Not really. Anyway, I was never told to tone it down. I stay within the rules mostly, but some on here don't like hearing anything negative about their airline, and can't retort against bad OPINIONS against it. Everyone can have an opinion, right? Well, I don't know if that is true in the Sandpit.... And that is something perspective newhires should think about before going there, but it seems you would rather them go in blind....

Great, you guys are starting BOS, and Kabul also. Aren't you also starting BOS to Birmingham, England? Ohhhhhh Kay.....?? As I have stated many times, other than nonstops to obscure city pairs in Europe, most Americans will not travel to Europe, Asia, South America, or even most of Africa via Dubai. Nope. Too far. India and Pakistan, probably. That means EK has a small affect on US carriers, and slots to large European cities and large US cities will be few and far between, even with MXP to JFK starting, with 4 other airlines already doing it (AA, DL, UA (EWR), and AZ). Your boasting that EK will take over that type of flying is wishful at best.

As far as you wanting to come back to the US as a DEC, that really isn't how it works here as you know. People actually WANT to live here. It is desirable for a permanent residence. Your airline desperately needed pilots to move to that area of the world, and the locals didn't have any experience. DECs were needed so the airline wouldn't have a bad safety record right off the bat. Shiny new planes are great, but a bad safety record would sink it. There is plenty of experience here in the States, thanks. If you somehow got hired at DL, expect 717 FO. Plenty of pilots flying C-5As and Stealth bombers would take it in a heartbeat, and their experience probably trumps yours.

And American employment is helped by EK and all of the Gulf Carriers, but what are your choices? Would you only go for Airbus? The EU, which is also hearing complaints from their own airlines about your growth, would love to be your exclusive airplane provider, and never give discounts. Going for 2 providers brings down the price. Who else can give you big planes? Antanov? Good luck with that. Atleast DL and ALPA brought light to your financing practice of using the EXIM bank when it was designed to help POOR Countries.....

So, enjoy the Sandpit and your life over there. Our legacies are growing and getting stronger and more stable, hiring will continue for the next decade, and wages are going up. While you watch this from afar, like Kabul or wherever, just remember that you are "over there." You wanna come back? 1st year FO pay is awaiting you.

I hope none of the above offended you. Have a pleasant day.

Have you asked your DL buddies about the last 10 years in the States? Not much fun. Stagnation, BKs, age 65. I can understand why people left, many HAD to. Well, things are a changing. Wages are up, airlines here are getting more profitable and that means stability. Also, 15,000 pilots at the big 3 legacies alone will retire within the next decade. That means upward movement that hasn't been seen here in decades. DL will have 4 years in a row with 800 Capts leaving (each year). The subsequent year after those 4 loses 650. If one Capt leaves from the top, 9 pilots move up, and if 800 move in one year... Well, you get the point probably. Ask your DL friends what they think about that, and see where they are in 5 and then 10 years from now. I think they will be a lot happier. That is what you and fv will probably miss out on, and that is your doing. It's great if you enjoy your current respective jobs abroad, but don't complain if both of you are the only ones speaking English in your cockpits as the rest of the Expats return home in droves. I enjoy flying abroad and seeing new things and places, but I also like returning home after each trip, and not just for 10 days a month in one chunk. If 800 pilots retire in one year (and then each year after that for 3 or 4 more), how long would you have to live in ATL or DTW, and how long would you HAVE TO fly West Coast allnighters? Not long, I'd bet. And, that will happen at all 3 legacies. That is something you and fv will obviously look at, but don't expect to keep your seats. Sorry. Good luck.

Yeah...! Because of course this will no longer be a cyclical business and there is nothing but continuos growth from here on end....! Right? It is a chunk of 14 days that I enjoy home while traveling business class in one of the top ten airlines in the world, not #49. But with all these Aussies, Kiwis, Brits around here, it seems to me that I already are the only one speaking English around here. Of course, that is until the next downturn....! I have a feeling that the expat market will continue to be very sought after by pilots from the US.

Another thread hijacked by the village idiot copying and pasting the same tired delta stuff/anti- brand x stuff-
Boring

What flop said-^^^ our tax money should not be spent buying tickets on airlines that get subsidized help from their governments. Esp governments that get rich off the OPEC scam

So defensive! Wow. You are right about continuous growth here in the States, mainly due to consolidation. How many Majors were flying in the States when you bailed out? 6? Not anymore. How many retirements were coming when you bailed? Looking ahead now, there has to be huge hiring just to cover Age 65 retirements. Watch those Brits and Aussies go back home when they can. And you know the ANA guys love the outsourcing. Oh well, enjoy flying on the 9th best airline back to NRT, while your friends progress at DL and enjoy quality time with their families. Maybe you can learn Japanese and become a management pilot (that might not be allowed for an American) and go to Laos and recruit pilots there when all the rest return to their homelands. Sayonara!

Time will tell........!

#4 just for the record. 5 star rating by Sytrax for 2013.

My time at home is fantastic, thank you for your concern. Keep enjoying that artificial vanilla flavored crap they so call ice cream, covered with that colored chemical topping that can be left unrefrigerated for a couple of years and won't even grow mold on it. I'll keep enjoying desserts by Pierre Herme'

Good luck with that " there is nothing but blue skies ahead" theory.
