JetBlue is increasing the size of our maintenance/delivery pilot group
that concentrates on maintenance positioning flights. We are interested
in retired Airbus A320 pilots.

* Pay is $500.00 per day plus expenses
* A320 type rating with Captain experience required, need not be current
* JetBlue provides a complete initial course at MCO JetBlue U.
* Relocation is not required
* Will be qualified in both left and right seat
* Flights operates from SEA to cities on the west coast, also San
Salvador, Tampa, Orlando, Lake City, Florida for maintenance and
positioning.
* Must be retired, or separated from US Airways

There is nothing to prevent this. There is nothing to prevent them from hiring contract pilots to only do A321 flights or only do red eyes.

Sadly at Allegiant we're learning they can do these things until you have a signed CBA. Voting in a union is necessary but realize that you have your contract currently and all of the loopholes in it until the company agrees to a new one. Just another misstep of the RLA.

I agree with this. I work at Allegiant and I have my app out. Management doesn't think there will be very much attrition but I disagree. I'm fairly senior and I plan on leaving when the right company comes calling and I know many other captains who feel the same.

The "home every night" thing just isn't worth it when your schedule sucks and you can't get any days off.

That's weird my buddy flies the 75 off the Big Island and get 19-20 Days off a month.

I'm guessing he's probably quite senior in domicile. That's just how seniority works in this industry. I was briefly top dog in my domicile enjoying the best trips and ridiculous number of days off. Guys senior to me came in and now I'm back to min days off/borderline reserve. That's just how any seniority based system works.

12 for a line holder, 11 for reserve. If you commute, plan on commuting on a day off at each end of the trip.
