I believe nothing that the VP Flight says.

OK then, now we have our APA Furlough Committee member who just told the last recall class that AA has started up the pilot hiring department down at the schoolhouse. So either they're both lying or <SHOCK!> there just might be some validity to this.

Some of you conspiracy theorists really blow me away.

How long do you see both carriers hiring separately? Also, anyone hired after the date of the merger on both sides is date of hire right?

I would think no more than a year after POR. Two departments seems inefficient.

The date of Constructive Notice for the Seniority List Intigration Snapshot is February 14, 2013.

I would expect anyone hired after 2/14/13 to be merged DOH. Furlough protection will be given to those hired at AA or USAir prior to POR in late August or early September.

Is AA training pilots already for the A320?

The first A320 bid awards were just posted yesterday, effective June 1 for an August start date. DFW/320/Domestic. It went amazingly senior given how screwed up the initial training will be: For some strange reason, they will train them on the Bus in June, then release them back to their previous bid status for a month via a quick recurrent, then after a month, re-train them on the Bus via another quick recurrent. Ugh!

Bottom CA seniority was around 2900, bottom FO seniority around 6200.

This was only 9 CAs and FOs... it will go up to 20/month after this so my guess is it will start going a lot more junior.

AA, where did you get that 20 a month figure from? I was shocked by how senior it went. And to think someone in my seniority range (9200) might have a shot. Hopefully it will begin to go much more junior in the coming months.

The manager of crew planning had stated that the Bus initial class would be small but would increase to around 20/month as deliveries start happening. So that's why we think it'll start going more junior as it picks up.

Any way you slice it, DFW awards will always be more senior than other bases.

Good to see ya back Herk, it's been a while!

I heard they are possibly shooting for some time in June to open the app window with interviews to follow for September new hire classes. Nothing concrete yet, but just a time frame that was thrown around.
