That is precisely why we want 9E to hold the line. Because everyone else will be in this situation if this amount of concessions are taken. When we at ASA make $16 more an hour than our competitors, how are we supposed to keep the flying we have? Thus, pilots making a fair wage at $95,000+ a year lose their jobs while guys making around $50,000 a year get the flying. How is this advancing the profession that most of us have worked so hard to get.

But whatever. Each pilot has to do what is best for themselves and I understand that. Best of luck to all.

I asked basically that exact question at the road show and was told it won't matter, Delta WILL be next targeting ASA/Expressjet, then will go after Skywest. Delta wants Compass/Gojet costs from ALL its partners and has all the leverage to get it. If Pinnacle doesn't give in it WILL be shut down and thus no longer able to be used as a comparison or give in and be used as a much cheaper comparison... either way ASA/Expressjet will be attacked next as much more expensive than the rest.

Actually, I would see both SkyWest AND XJT attacked at the same time, but only if SKYW were to declare bankruptcy. It's yet to be seen how the UA situation will play out with the aircraft shedding, but I don't expect that to put SKYW into bankruptcy. Only when the DL contract renegotiations come up again could this be a problem, and interestingly, it lines up with when the first MRJ deliveries start. :bomb:

UUUGGGHHHH!!! Nice to see ALPA raising the white flag like that. So far, ALPA has taken $1634.30 from me this year. I darn well better get better answers to my question of how this will effect the rest of the regionals than: " delta will be targeting the others next so it wont matter".

An 'airline' today is not the same business or in the same industry as an 'airline' of twenty years ago. Today they are a brand manager that contracts out as much as possible - including capacity. Delta is leading the industry with this. Their agreement with Alaska and purchase of Virgin Atlantic is one step short of the capacity purchase agrements they use for 'regional' feed. ALPA has no effective answer for this. Any effective answer will involve letting CA's go directly to the employer willing to pay the most for a CA. If carriers are going to award flying to the lowest bidder pilots should be able to take their experience to the highest bidder and be paid for it - as a CA. This means abandoning the seniority system and we all know ALPA will never give that up.

Ding ding ding we have a winner. The MRJ will allow Skywest to run a profitable stand alone operation if needed. Akin and company aren't stupid. They've seen what happened to Comair (hostile buyout by DL), and ACA/Fly I and Express Jet when they tried to run stand alone operations with 50 seaters. Skywest has a vehicle to get rid of the 50 seaters and replace them with aircraft they can run in a branded operation at a profit, if needed. Delta better be careful, because unlike Comair in 98, they don't have the leverage for force a hostile takeover of Skywest and if it gets nasty, they will end up with a competent management team running a well resourced airline that will have the capacity to give them a very difficult time.

that cracks me up, from your ac experience list I would of thought you would know better
