Skywest to fly 12 aircraft and XJet to fly 11. It's a 4 year deal. Skywest to fly LAX to ABQ, FAT, MRY, PHX, RNO, SAF, SMF, SAN, SJC, SBA and TUS. Flights start Nov 15th.

Skywest, the Australian regional? Or SkyWest? How come everyone will trip over themselves to punctuate ExpressJet correctly, but not SkyWest?

Company FAQ says aircraft to be operated as "American Eagle" due to AMR rebranding. What are they going to call Eagle now then? Hopefully they have something better than SureJet...

Just means the American Connection name by Chautauqua will go away. All the regional flying will be called American Eagle now, no matter who does the flying. Wonder if there will be at least one more regional announcing Eagle flying soon. Also wonder if this a slow attempt by American to squeeze their wholly-owned Eagle out as Delta did to Comair.

Right, but American Eagle is an airline name in itself. So they will become American Eagle operated by ????

The official announcement says Skywest will fly as "American Eagle" and the planes will be painted in "American Eagle livery" except for 2 planes which American has agreed to let SkyWest paint in SkyWest colors. I assume this also applies to XJet.

I undertand how SkyWest/ExpressJet will be branded (didn't know anout own colors for SkyWest though), but what will American Eagle Airlines call themselves if all American feed is under the Eagle name? "American Eagle operated by AMR American Eagle Holdings" doesn't sound quite right, and they have to have something unambiguous on the tickets, reservation system, etc.

Wow, ASA back to DFW. Never thought I'd see that come true as a domicile.

SkyWest like generic "SkyWest" painted airplanes to use as spares. All they have to do is change out the magazines and they can fly them for DL,US,UA and now AA

And it's gonna go senior as hell!

Do all the old DFW senior 700 Capts bid back to the 200? I wouldn't be surprised if many of them dont! Too proud to go back to the 50....no crew meals, ya know!

Plus it's a pay cut to come back to the fiddy. I hope they stay on the 700. I been commuting since we closed DFW. Hoping to be based back here but will 11 years hold it?

So eagle is losing flying and they want to recall/hire? They arent telling us something or are trying to keep everyone from bailing.

The name ExpressJet was originally Continental Express Airlines. The change came when Continental did exactly what American is doing now. ExpressJet was already painted on the engines, I would expect some similar rebranding at AA.

This will be funny to watch. Think we'll see an about face from some of the L-ASA lifers that scream that we need to be "cost competitive" and that we can't ask for industry leading pay rates?

"We need the HIGHEST pay rate possible on the -200 so I can bid down and go BACK to DFW without taking a pay cut!!!!!!!!!!"

As mentioned elsewhere, obviously XJT is "cost competitive" as it is now if they're able to secure NEW flying.

I had a eagle jumpseater on the jumpseat from DFW-DEN a few month ago. He was a 6 year guy, fresh new capt and already talking smack about his new hire FO first time on the jet. Anyways during the whole flight he was talking about AMR term sheet and referring as " WE" voted, "WE this", "WE that". I kept trying to follow his conversation until i finally asked him " who are we? did eagle merged with amr already?" he said " oh no american voted it". I would like to see him again and ask him if hes ok with his amr dream.
