Highlight of note: Chautauqua to replace nine SkyWest EMB-120s with up to nine E-140s by the end of the year. No more EMB in SLC?
Republic has separate contracts with Delta for both its Chautauqua and Shuttle America subsidiaries. Chautauqua's contract includes 24 50-seat Embraer 145s and expires in May 2016 at the end of 2011, according to Republic's 2011 annual report. The airline is expected to add up to nine E-140s to replace nine 30-seat Embraer 120s that are flown by SkyWest and will be removed from the fleet by the end of the year.
Where are you getting this?? The E120 is mentioned nowhere in the article. And DL just can't swoop in and say, "Your at-risk routes are no longer at-risk, so we're going to throw someone else on it.)
Paragraph 7:
Chautauqua's contract includes 24 50-seat Embraer 145s and expires in May 2016 at the end of 2011, according to Republic's 2011 annual report.
What does this sentence say?
Another reason why Delta may want to get rid of the 50 seaters.

SkyWest is already on the back end of there overhuals. Should be done mid 2014.. And have already Been paid buy it's partners for the overhauls.. This confirmed on the last Q call...
This is also the main reason why SKYW, Inc has been posting low quarterly profits for the past year. They ramped up the amount of aircraft it was doing overhauls on to have everything done early. OO is way ahead of the game, not sure where EV is sitting.

The word is, SkyWest already has a taker lined up for whatever 50-seaters it loses flying for in this Delta deal. SkyWest will take whatever 76-seaters Delta is nice enough to let them have and transition the 50-seaters elsewhere as needed.

You skywest guys are really confident
YES we are! Management has 40 years of that atitude.
My crystal balls haven't been wrong yet. When it comes to new a/c (rjs), mainline will not finance OR buy them anymore. They want a clean balance sheet. So with that who out there has the ability to purchase?
When does the reduction begin?
Delta will want to hold the leases on the 76'ers as it gives them great negotiating and whipsaw power among the bidders. This is one of the biggest sticking points between DL and the partners that can and will purchase/lease they own A/C. The lease holder knows they can always place the A/C elsewhere if things become unprofitable with the current contract.
SkyW Inc has a LOT of 50 seaters. Probably gonna be hard to keep those flying as contracts expire. The Cost per Seat Mile is way too high.
