As it should be!

Easy to say for those who got into this industry at the right time and upgraded quickly. A little tougher to swallow for those 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th year FOs who have no upgrade in sight through no fault of their own.

In reality, upgrades are not as fast for us either. PIC shouldn't be as high as in the past either. My opinion at least.

Many of those FOs went to the hot airline of the time period taking substandard pay for a quick upgrade. When that business model turned, they got screwed. But I don't have any sympathy for them.

Your under the illusion that most just picked an airline and went there. Reality is that most sent resumes by the bucket and went to the one that said "your hired". Congrats that you are not in that mold.

Huh? Those FOs include Comair pilots hired in 2002-2005, under the best regional contract in the industry. It had nothing to do with a substandard carrier. In fact, the substand carriers had the fastest movement/upgrades. Back in 2005, 2006, Mesa, Great Lakes, Gulfstream were quick upgrades. The quality carriers (if there is such a thing) were like Eagle, Expressjet, ASA, and the upgrades weren't fast for Eagle. Expressjet FOs hired in 2004 were able to upgrade in 2006 in 2 years. However, those hired in 2006 are just starting to upgrade now, 6 years. ASA is a similar story.

this wins! i hate when people act like they are special because they work at xyz airline and not abc airline. When actually they sent every last one of them a resume.

VA has hired plenty of guys with less than 1000 PIC if you're interested, go for it.
