FURTHER he was cleared to land on 27 at first, he was only cleared to land on any runway after the tower realized he was landing on 18. Notice her scrambling to clear the fire equipment off runway 18?

Yes shooting a ILS with a modern jet single engine is much harder than shooting a visual approach to the right runway single engine.

Maybe for you... Most of professional pilots find comfort in an ILS. That's one way we know we're lined up on the right runway and that we're on the proper glidepath. I assume you're actually referring to an IMC approach. If that is the case, I would think you would have been very thankful for the ILS.

I don't know why, but for some reason I just can't help feeling a good portion of your time may have been logged on Microsoft Flight Simulator.

yes as a matter of fact it was IMC, and yes we still had a fire light on. None the less we stayed calm and didn't put it into the side of mountain. While I never played microsoft flight simulator, I'm gonna buy it fly a p-180 give myself 10 sm and vfr conditions. Further I'll fail an engine, and all gyros. Then if i'm really lucky I'll see if I can find my way to runway 27. I'm out the door right now to bestbuy to buy it! I'll let you know how it goes... Now then ask yourself where would you rather be with a fire light? Would it be visual, or with IMC conditions? Then when you answer go @!@# yourself.

See, I just knew you were a Microsoft FS kind of guy. Good luck with those flight profiles Skippy.:laugh:

Damn you really have problems keeping up with threads...
First off I was the one that posted the audio. Second, and again I have never played flight simulator. Try again cowboy.

Are you mildly retarded? I'm pretty sure I'm keeping up just fine thanks, but let's see how I'm doing. To sum up, most of your flight time has been logged on MFS. You're pretty sure you are god's gift to aviation, and you don't like ILS's because they make it harder to find the runway. Also, Clouds are scary. Does that seem about right?

Okay, It's possible I may have crossed the line. I was just having a little fun because my airplane is broken and I'm board.

Fly Safe.

Yes I'll admit IMC is is a little scary when in a emergency. Secondly and again I have not every even played Microsoft flight simulator. Why don't you tell me about the last time you had a engine failure. Simulators full motion or home PC doesn't count... I'm off till Sunday, so I'm game!

That preface was so that I could state that my opinion as an informed expert. As the Incident Captain's first single-engine emergency landing, his priority in that chaotic moment was the wellness-preservation of his pax. The sh1tty handling of the situation by the rookie (or unprofessional) tower controller was a major (if not causal) contributing factor in this incident.

How does that work?
