Jetblue buying Eagle

I just got hired at JB after 7yrs at Eagle.

The biggest hole with this rumor is someone tell me one good reason why JB needs/wants to buy Eagle. Hint- There isnt anything Eagle brings to the table that jetblue cant do. End of thread.

You thought wrong bro. SWA had Atlanta to gain, as well as a certificate that had Carribbean ops on it. Tranny was a good buy for SWA. It greatly expanded their network and entrenched them into a market where they had a huge hole.

SWA purchasing JB would make a lot of sense, too. It would get them into the NYC market, where they have virtually zero presence. That wouldn't surprise me at all, once the AT purchase is completed.

Research Frank Lorenzo, Michael Milken, and Doug Parker, you don't need any of your own money to buy an airline, just financing junk bonds and dumb workers willing to work substandard wages to pay the interest nut on the junk bonds.
