ASA has to maintain 80% of all connection flying in ATL. Pulling them out raises the other connection carrirers percentage and lowers ASA's.

I doubt it...

Delta will conviently find a way to ignore that facet if it helps them by shipping ASA out.

That's fine. 9E would love some MEM flying back. Stay in ATL, win-win from what I can see.

Delta has made it clear they don't won't MEM, so whoever winds up with flying there has some 200s that DL doesn't want.

MEM and CVG are both dead men walking....

That's just not the case. It may be one of your dreams, though. This month I get to fly to Rio twice, and twice to Paris.

Regardless, it's an interesting rumor, and I am sure Delta is preparing for Southwest to come to town. SWA already announced less departures per day in ATL, (down to 175) and mainly point to point stuff.

Maybe they should prepare by not signing go jet to fly for them

Not if they reduce all the DCI flying in ATL.

Imagine that, actually fighting Southwest with DL MAINLINE planes? Really? Fight 737s with A319s moved from MEM? Sounds like a better idea. We'll see.......

Bingo! What they are trying to do in the face of a Southwest onslaught is move as many 1st class seats through ATL as possible.

SWA onslaught? SWA is bringing the total number of flights in ATL DOWN to 175 total per day, and to fund that purchase and pay increases for local ATL employees (all employees) they will have to keep fares higher. They aren't a LCC anymore, and everyone knows it. But, they don't have bag fees! (even though the fares are often higher)
