Good point. Unfortunately, you guys already look like a bunch of arrogant jerks thanks to Sacka and Lyinvixin.

Too bad since 99% of SWA guys are good eggs.

In this environment, are 140 new pilots actually going to show on property? Or is this just another "friendly reminder" from management to pull the yes lever?

This past summer, company hired approx 100 to cover the increase in FO vacations, due to more FOs hitting 10yrs and thus 4 weeks vacation. Over 4th of July weekend, Flt Ops requested pilots to step up and fly uncovered trips due the extra vacation drops. For those pilots interested and available, it was a premium pay gravy train with biscuit wheels.

Next summer it's even amplified. Company wants training in 1Q/2012 to have pilots in the system before summer starts. I expect the 140 to be on property as advertised, if not more.

Just a sign of improper staffing. This keeps Jr. Capts and F/Os on reserve while senior guys suck up the premium pay trips.

Add up all the premium pay trips, divide by line average and that's the number of guys either being kept on reserve or not getting hired.
 
Oakland and a 20+ year upgrade. No joke no flame. The AAI group is very young and will be here for a very long time.
 
They are also being hired to increase reserve percentage. Probie FO's and more junior captains are part of the premium flying solution.
