Swa hiring 140 pilots

In the last round of hiring, everyone that got the job had the type. Kind of ironic with the other situation we have going on..

If it makes you feel better, let's call it the "mother of all acquisitions", or the "be all end all of acquisitions".

Yeah...about that....I think the ONE thing we can agree on is that this won't be the last acquisition.
 
Resume Upload

Has anyone been able to upload their resume in PDF format or is everyone really converting to .txt format? PDF looks much better.

If i was a gambling man, I would say within/ 2 years you will be at SWA.

Just my view but, coming over now will give you better seniority. Dont shot the messenger. :)
 
In this environment, are 140 new pilots actually going to show on property? Or is this just another "friendly reminder" from management to pull the yes lever?

"My MEC speaks for me!"
 
Must be a sign of how well Southwest operates/treats people.

-Had an issue uploading an updated resume and emailed IT with a question. Within an hour "they" changed the format and made a few minor changes for me and even uploaded the new resume to the pilot credentials thing for me.

Seems like a company with people who actually want to be there, from the custodial engineers on up!

Half your MEC is on the lam for their lack of judgement dude. They cost you personally at least a cool mil.

The following info is "my" opinion only.

Please use .txt format. SAVE AS as an RTF. You might wonder why? You are correct in that a PDF looks better. The use of a program that "scans" resumes might be utilized. It does not work on a PDF (as a PDF is read only). Scanning programs identify certain keywords, such as, correlating total time into a numeric field, and certain other "words" that may or may not "ping" the system. For example, some companies ping words like "honor" as in honor society, or "check" as in check airman. AGAIN, just MY opinion.

I had an issue with uploading my resume initially, too. I changed the formatting to 'txt' and it's uploaded now, but it had to take a more simplistic page layout and font (which I don't prefer). Can I ask how your resume looks after IT kindly made a change for you? Thanks, and good luck to you.

Can't say they did much in the way of looks, just changed the title for "upload" and did make it into a RTF from Word. Although, I though I had already changed it into a RTF file when I had issues.

Anyhow, good luck to all. I'm sure the folks in DAL have plenty of apps.(from highly qualified pilots) to sort through, before getting to one that had to be given assistance.

My artistic easy on the eyes resumee's spacing got

got changed around a bit..... And the super sexy "guaranteed a job"

font got changed to something ultra basic....... But guess what?

the computer they scan these .txt files with really does NOT care. Just

follow the directions and hope you get to step two! Good luck to ya!!!!!!

Maybe, but that is contingent on "Gary" (as you guys colloquially refer to him) getting the vote he wants. "Gary" continues to exploit both groups' collective greed. Recapping: after round one he has been able to take a $hitload of money off the Tranny table without alienating Southwest’s pilots, and now in round two he can screw the Trannies out of existence (should the Trannies vote no) by divesting out of the majority of Guadalupe’s assets and just shutting the operation down piece by piece. (Note the recent articles mentioning “de-hubbing ATL” as a start). In that scenario, "Gary" would have to hire at Southwest. Is that the 500 you are referring to? Would Trannies have preferential interviews or could “Gary” leverage even more for that in round three?

This is pretty much the current goal of SWAPA. I wouldn't be surprised to see them make a deal (pay cuts/work rule mods) to encourage the God King to make it happen.

Prove me wrong, SWAPA.
 
Fubi, SWAPA is actually asking their pilots to vote for integration and accepting SL-10. Your remarks are directed at the view into how establishing leverage works. In the end both parties will work together and have to understand public discussion on who has the bigger whatever is not flattering and makes everyone look bad from the outside.
