Rumor around the training department here is that we may operate under separate contracts because it is getting so ugly between the 2 ALPA groups. Can that even happen? I thought we had come together. What the heck is going on? If what I heard is true about what the Expressjet proposal was for us instructors, I hope we don't combine. I would take a hit based on their proposal.
 
I hope we do combine, but gracefully.

God knows we need a new perspective in our union. I am really tired of paying dues for my screwing. Mgmt. screws us enough-and for free.

From what I've heard, I sure don't want their guys running things.
 
Really-Could they possibly be bigger shills? I think not.

The express guys want to screw us instructors and I've been told they just want to fight for the heck of it. They don't seem to grasp reality. I don't think they will be good for us.

I'm not talking about the training guys-they are fine.... The rabbit hole is much deeper.
 
CM...... We have a one man show

Oh PLZ! Are you really going to blame all of this on CM? How can he be a one man show? The MEC supports him. He isn't on the Merger Comm. How can he be a one man show? If you believe that, then you also don't support your MEC.

Listen, I was there and this isn't going well. There are some big problems and very different philosophies between the two groups. I'm optimistic that things can be patched up, but you don't know the half of what went on. It's really scary how they think on that side.
 
I happen to like our guys. What's your problem with them? From what our training reps told me, I susport them 100%.

From a line guy's perspective, it seems to me that our union is all to happy to give the company what it wants in the form of MOU's and LOA's without the input of the membership. So long as they still get their Union pay, which has gone up lately, they seem to play by Management's book without putting up much of a fight any more. A perfect example is allowing the company to use things like ACARS and an autodialer for pilot notification. I'm all for keeping our company competitive but I also don't want the company to have such easy access to me that they can screw me any time their (short) staffing model isn't working out so well for them.

We've had Acars way before ASA and one of the first things we learned was the ACARS was advisory only when it comes to scheduling. It would be a huge step backwards for us to accept that as a form of notification. Autodial? Don't have it, don't want it.

With respect to negotiations, are the XJT pilots asking for too much? For better or worse they reflect the sentiment of the XJT line pilots. We simply don't want to endure even further cuts to QOL and pay
 
Gee, I wonder if management is floating all this stuff to split our ranks?? Of course all of you are falling for it!!! BTW hoping the whole pilot group suffers because you might take a hit?? Nice!!

I'll say it PBR...........You told us so. About everything you said would happen....has happened. It's been "death by a thousand cuts". The Chinese call it Lingchi. It seems to be the new philosophy of upper mgmt in America.


PBR told us about brad THE DAY HE ARRIVED. I didn't disbelieve you PBR, but he is a crafty SOB. Puts ALL the blame on others.

I found myself wanting to send him "Brad, you'll never believe what scheduling is doing to us!" letters. But I realized it was most likely at his direction, certainly with his knowledge and approval.

Actually I wasn't referring to CM within the scope of merger, just day to day stuff. I realize he is not on the merger committee.

He is the most devious, sneaky, downright genuinely mean person I have ever worked for. And I worked for Hulas Kanodia at Trans States. We knew Hulas hated us and anticipated it, with Brad he will slap you on the back, ask how your family is, right before he slips that knife underneath your ribcage and into your aorta. If you don't open a direct dailog with with the Express guys, he will have you guys in a firefight, killing each other, he is that crafty. Him and his cheap porn star 'stache.
Glad he is gone and not my problem, and you are keeping him busy. Why do you think SGU sent a guy with no formal training to be your COO?

You ASA guys need to get some balls and stop being so afraid. The company can only benefit from the merger once we are one pilot group. WE have leverage. Let's use that to get quality of life improvements including more pay. We are going to be a Super Regional-shouldn't we get paid that way?
 
I guess I dont understand why all the ASA guys seem angry at our(XJT) union for wanting to better the contract. Better pay, better QOL, better everything. Is there honestly a reason why you guys do not want a better contract and just want to go with the status quo? If there is, I am all ears, but I just dont understand not wanting to get something better. That is what our pilot group wants so that is what our union is doing. The general consensus out on the line at XJT is that if it aint better, we aint voting for it.

You guys have never dealt with uncle Jerry, he will whipsaw the hell out of our three groups and pit us all against each other.

Our fellow Comair pilots had the biggest balls in the industry...Bigger than most mainline groups including the Delta pilots...In the end, the lack of a coherent and cohesive plan by our beloved union ALPA caused those large balls to be put in a vice that squashed them so hard it hurts just to think what it must be like to be a Comair pilot.

No thanks, I'll take big brains now over "big balls"....I'm not interested in having those big balls crushed in that vice....

well heck! lets just be Gojets or Pinnacle.... F this place if they can't treat us better.

I don't care so much about $$$ as I do QOL.

Until we get a contract that does NOT leak like a rusty bucket that keeps us from getting screwed on a simi regular basis, I will not vote for it. If our ASA union goons can't grow a set and get it done, I hope XJ's will.

RES sucks
inefficient use of RES's sucks
DH on last leg no matter the duty time sucks
extensions on the last leg of a 3 or 4 day sucks
waiting until the end of the month for or schedules sucks
screwing around on long delays an hour at a time to keep us sitting RR sucks
the list can go on and on and on and on...

Things could be SOOOO much better with changes that not only would not cost $$$, but would actually SAVE the company $$$ in productive HAPPY (er) workers....

come on ALPA, grow a set and get those scheduling retards out of our lives like you all promised the last time around AND if we voted in this PBS. If you can't get that issue resolved, get the F out of the way and let someone else get it done...

You really need to read the transition process agreement that Mormon clow signed off on...

As long as that's pre-concession pay plus an additional 6+% raise and no pbs... and other various improvements...... I'm with you. Everyone here will have a shot at the majors over the next 5-7 years I think. Make the move when you can gentlemen.
