Not really. Our SOC probably took a year. But, we had multiple fleets and thousands more employees that had to learn procedures etc compared to your two companies. AT is a lot smaller than NWA was, and the NWA people had to learn DL policies. I think the AT people could do it fairly quickly. (if motivated by $$$$$) I think the AT pilots could learn pretty fast how to be a SWA pilot. Here is an example:

Wake up in your new silk sheets. Go to the mirror, and start saying aloud "I am a Southwest pilot, the best paid and most handsome pilot, IN THE WORLD. I do not mind flying to West Texas. They pay me a lot to fly to West Texas. I still look better than anyone else. I can slam dunk a 737 at ANY airport. I can fast taxi, and maybe beat another airliner to the runway. I will accept any short approach, in any weather, visually. I will taxi very fast to the gate, not because I only have 14 minutes to get food, but rather it might impress some chicks, somewhere. I look like Fonzi in my leather jacket, and that makes me cooler than anyone else. I could jump a shark waterskiing. Even though I may have to fly 6 legs today, that's cool, because I am paid more than anyone else, IN THE WORLD, even though I fly a 737, TO WEST TEXAS. I am a Southwest pilot, the best damn paid pilot, ANYWHERE. (until the rest of them catch up to us)"

The AT guys could memorize that in 2 weeks, no doubt. Give them a chance. Regardless, I LOVE ALL OF YOU.

Classic GL.

You need to quit trying to MANAGE THEIR EXPECTATIONS.

Coming from a guy clearly trying to manage OUR expectations this is pretty ironic.

Typical of your style though. Just wait trannies, soon you can get over here and the General will dump on everyone of your threads with inaccurate, irrelevant opinions ...

Enjoy!

I think you are wrong. The General has been stating the arbitrators will be doing the deciding on the SLI, and not you guys. That drives you crazy.

I don't care who ya are, that's funny right there! Congratulations, General, you even made me laugh! Well bowled, sir, well bowled.

While it's true that GL has been stating that the arbitrator will be doing the deciding, it is also true that he has offered opinions on exactly how the arbitrator will decide, based on his experience with DAL/NWA. He may be right, but then again may be wrong. Forgive us if we don't share the General's and your views on these two situations being completely analogous. Time will tell who was closer to the mark.

Fraternally,

You're welcome. I perform every Thursday night at the Laugh Barn in Marietta, GA.

As far as your own SLI goes, yes, I do add my opinion now and then, and I reference recent SLI awards. I think they will affect your own decision, but it really is up to the arbitrators. Take care!

:laugh::laugh::laugh:

Or, in my case, a gator.

Actually, I am so cool that I can waterski over a gator while wearing a leather jacket AND my lucky Hawaiian amulet. . . . . But you'll have to tune in next week to see if I make it! ;)

though he won't admit it (publicly), the "general" still quietly 'agonizes' over his decision to go with Delta...:D

Yeah, you're right. My one leg days flying around the Marianas and eating sushi in Narita really give me a lot of time to agonize over it. I keep saying to myself, quietly, "I wish I could be in LBB right now. I wish I could wear a cool Fonzi like jacket. I wish I could do a few more legs today. I wish I could pull gear for The Prussian...." Actually, I wish I could have your payrates, and hopefully that will change soon! Take care.
