Message From UAL MEC Chariman

I would check that kind of attitude at the door- remember which group is larger and which group brought the widebodies which CAL doesn't have. An independent union drive can fold your minority group into UALs- this has already happened to one (cocky) group and it can certainly happen again. Your post comes across as non cooperative- you all have a lot at stake and you need to focus on management. This thing can go south quickly if your not careful.

That is why we are doing the JCBA before the SLI. By doing that, pilots with the US Air East mentality can't wreck a promising airline.

Nobody I've talked to at UAL wants to do what you did to the America West folks. I have not heard even ONE person here with that kind of attitude. So please, don't come on here and make threats towards my fellow employees (from CAL) because you are unhappy at USAirways. We want this to work out for everyone.

Your comment on our need to focus on management does make sense. Congratulations...it's a 1st from you.

This reminds me of the UAL MEC Video with Herb starting by commenting that we really need to do everything we can to get our Furloughed pilots back on the property but immediately follows up with "but we really have to get the widebody international pay fixed", seems like the only real concern for the rulers of the UAL MEC. It's kinda like, "we will work for a fair SLI, but traditionally furloughees not on the property will be placed on the bottom" comments followed by fighting to the death over 400 pay/SLI while trying to convince the bottom 2000 of us, that will never see the 400, that this is in everyones (UAL) best interest.

The 400 was what won Delta a second slot to Haneda over United which bid a 777. The 400 has value on across both oceans but to use it in such an arrogance manner with 1400 pilots on furlough is crap.

Forget about EWR LEC Chair/bigmouth, Even if you don't agree with CAL MEC, apologize and get back to work privately and stop this I am taking the High Road Public Negociating tactic while so many of us are paying a high price (massive cuts/furloughs to allow your books to look better) to allow this Merger to exist, which I doubt either party would be anytime soon be getting any contractural progress from management w/o.

Rest easy....the heavy guys (777 and 747) are not going to get the best deal at the expense of the NB guys this time around. The negotiating committees are well aware what the NB guys have gone through over the past 8 years and the finished product will reflect that.

If there are fences for aircraft, then it is not fair to give the highest pay to the 744. The only way to make it fair is to make them pay the same. And, that would give top payscale to MORE pilots. What a concept, that the UAL MEC can't understand. And the Delta precedent is also right there in front of you too. Seriously, shortsightedness is prevailing here.

THE 570 group is trying to cover their ass again. I'm sick and tired of em. There are only 25 747-400's and you are holding the furloughed pilots and narrowbody pilots hostage for you greed and potential seniority grab. Don't you get it? the 400s are gone in 2016...all of em. Too much energy for 4% of the fleet. GET THE CONTRACT DONE DO THE NECESSARY APOLOGIZING (BOTH SIDES) AND STOP WASTING TIME!

This is the same crap the UAL-MEC have been doing for years. All they care about is the -400 pilots. DO NOT LET THEM DO THIS TO YOU AGAIN.

The majority of CAL and UAL pilots are on the same page in regards to the JCBA and the SLI. My post was directed at a small minority of pilots that are looking for a special carve-out for their own gains at the expense of the other 11000+ pilots.

Don't worry St. Nic your pilot group is still be the most dysfunctional in the industry.

After a few days of confusion, I'm beginning to think that is what this is all about. I know how bad UAL narrowbody guys have taken it over the last 9 years. Like it or not they were shafted harder in order to give a softer landing to the widebody guys. Sorry prestigious whale drivers, this is a waste of a lot of good people's time.

No different at CAL, although not the wholesale selling out of 1500 guys right to the street like at UAL. That's brutal. But CAL's B-scale, no medical for new hires, and inhumane reserve rules pretty much trashed the life of the bottom third.

Call your reps, both airlines. Tell them to end this minor impasse that would benefit so few, it's blocking the road to progress.
