Naww...my point being...seeing chicks in the lounge is better than the gay Navy Locker room setup we have now.....not that there's anything wrong with that:laugh:!!
 
Once you get to the interview the job is yours to lose. Having said that the success rate varied from 60-70% in 2007 to somewhere a bit lower during this last round (or so I'm told.)

A number of things can take the job offer off the table: Cog skills test, knowledge tests, panel interview, psychological testing, visit with the pyschiatrist, and (rarely) the medical exam.

One would think that an ex-fighter pilot would be able to comfortably navigate through those hurdles more easily than a 2000-hr RJ wonderchild, and that may very well be the case -- until one has access to the statistics (which an outsider never will) this thread is based on rumor and hearsay.

How one gets the interview is one matter. But don't assume anyone gets preferntial treatment during the interview process. They've turned down the children of CP's and senior captains in the past.

I'm a known quantity to Delta. They know what they're getting. If I was coming from some RJ outfit I'm a wildcard. I'm sure they'd rather have me and my 1725 hours than that captian at Colgan.
 
Trainability and likeability are the primary traits which gets you hired. This can be achieved just the same through diversity (random backgrounds) hiring. Females, RJs, Military, 135, 91, etc. You can find competent airman in each of these groups within the flight hour minimums.
 
TC you are a known quantity to everybody on here. You are a goofball with very little TOAD time, I would rather a regional Capt than you. Your 1725 hours are drone time and you never would have made it through UPT if you had come through when I was an instructor, I assure you. Attitude cases washed out first!!
 
LOL- it's the blame game. If I'm not mistaken, everyone goes thru the same interview with CAs, technical, and computer test. I think most people would rather be flown by someone with 3,000 hours 121 glass over 4 years versus 1,500 f16 over 8 years, not that it really matters as they are hiring people to be fo's and not ca's.
Trg not to beat your wife over your entitlement.

In about 9 out of 10 cases, I'd rather be flown by the 1500 hr F16 guy.

Let's say both pilots in the above example have the same amount of natural flying ability. The training that the viper guy has been through has no equal in the civilian world. He may have some catching up to do with the glass guy in training, but will soon be outpacing him as soon as IOE. If the Viper guy can stay ahead of a single seat jet as a mission commander of a package (sts) on a red flag sortie or in actual combat, he can stay ahead of an Airbus 320 into DTW in poor wx.

So you'd leave SWA to come over to the big D? Good choice dude! Get back to the heavy metal that you deserve. :)
