why would the furloughed pilots not be allowed on the message board? Does their voice not matter anymore? Sounds like someone made a really dumb decision.

NetJets eboard

IF you provide your NetJets NJASAP furloughed pilots with UNRESTRICTED access to the NetJets NJASAP message board, I am sure we can move this conversation back where you think it should take place.

I don't know if it's nasty, misguided, or what. Perhaps there is a legal concern over the security of proprietary information that might be available on the message board and the company asked the union to withhold that information from the furloughed pilots. I don't know for sure. As an NJI guy, I've never seen the message board and won't get to til about, say, Nov 22, 2010.

Seems to me you can't give a guy who works for the compitition unfettered access to internal message boards.

I know they are furloughed guys and are in some way part of the family, but the fact remains that some of these family members are going to get jobs at other compqnes, some that compeete with NetJets. It would be very hard to be that guy torn between knowing info that could help your present employer but also not wanting to burn a potential recall...but who would know?

Point is it would be tempting...

Oh god. I think I agree with glass. Another sure sign of the impending apocalypse....

I believe the rules require current dues in order to gain access. If NJI or furloughed pilots were to pay, they could get on now. I don't necessarily agree, but extending the term of the Eboard is far more important than allowing distant family access.

Nope. NJI pilots will not be allowed access to the NJA board until integration is complete. Dues or no. We presently have our own message board maintained by NJASAP primarily for information on the contract and integration but is fairly limited. Furloughed pilots will not be allowed access until recall. Dues or no.
