Are you implying that JB, VA, and SkyWesy pilots are unprofessional?? You're a real piece of work.

Well, JB views their pilots as crewmembers, just like gate agents, FAs and rampers.

The uniforms at JB and VA are..... interesting....

There are efforts to strip down the professional status of pilots, ratcheting them down to a general employee status. Professional pilot sounds more expensive than employee.

When you don't have professional status, you can't be professional. Unfortunate that is has to be this way, but unions provide the ability to enforce that status.

A common trait of professionals is a Code of Ethics....

Don't get me wrong, the non union pilots a JB, VA and SW work hard and perform as professional as they can....

But again, this effort by DeMint simply shows that JB, VA and SW pilots take whatever is crammed down their throats.

Do you think deMint came up with this on his own? Or the corporate money that pays his campaigns gave him the idea.... Corporations don't want their pilots to have access to deMint of the political process. They want to get legislation with out interference.... Our Airlines will sell, lie, intimidate and blow smoke to have pilots to just be gear monkeys. Professionals actually sit at the table and be a part of the process. That process is in CapHill.

What is really a kicker is... JB and SW pilots make revenue for their company who in turn use that money to lobby congress to write these kinds of bills. JB and SW pilots and funding their own demise.

So, the JB, VA and SW pilots work hard and try to do the best they can, but they are limited. They aren't professional because they can't enforce it, or back it up.... when the company says do it or you are fired.... the pilots do what they are told..... is that professional?

ALPA's village idiot Rez has always maintained that you have to be union, preferrably ALPA, to be a professional....Is it any wonder it's hard to recruit people that he says aren't professionals? He will never get it...he has been brainwashed....

Real professionals would demand a legally enforceable contract.

Real professionals would demand a legally enforceable contract.

When I was a flight instructor, I considered myself a professional....I didn't have a "legally enforceable contract"...

There are Skywest, JetBlue, and VA pilots who are more professional than some card caring ALPA pilots....The difference is ALPA will save the jobs of those who aren't as professional....

Were these Northwest/Delta pilots professionals? Do professionals lose total situational awareness for hours? Funny definition of professional.....

A professional wouldn't judge his fellow pilots without a complete investigation. But no one could ever confuse you with a professional, anyway.

They admited they were on their laptops....That came from THEM....

I saw plenty of "judging" from my fellow mainline pilots regarding the professionalism of "regional" pilots following the other recent incidents...Save your pontificating for someone who actually believes your BS...

I must be a professional...I'm a card carrying ALPA member...Rez says that makes me a professional....

You are involved in the ASA MEC and the pilots have spoken...They are tired of the same old hardline chest thumping...Pilots voted against the drive because these same "blowhards on a message board" are the same people who are involved in ALPA leadership....INCLUDING YOU!

You assume that I am a member of the MEC -- I'm just a line pilot. I fully admit that I am a blowhard on here but I don't really take this site seriously. It's a good resource for information if you can filter out all the cruft, but as I've said many times, if people make assumptions about anything off of here they're not smart.
