Now that's the best news I've heard on Flightinfo in a long time.

You actually listed "AGI" as a rating? Now that is great humor!

(A little like listing "pocket pool expert" as a skill.)

I don't know what is worse, seeing a Flagship 900 or a Skywest 200 in ATL. I guess for their pilot's sake it is almost like looking in a mirror, only the Skywest pilot gets to see the sparkle a quarter an inch from the bottom of their shoe.

A.L.P.A holds their sacred ballots, S. Holocust spreads the news of ASA demise, unless of course of the heraldic angel of PBS shows up, (not to be confused with Macaroni), and Skywest 200's show up to cover our over-stressed routes.....???

I think I will go puke now....

I assure you it's from the booze, and not the Skywest "override". Keep enjoying those perks until we die!!!

Hark!! Macaroni speaketh....

Trojan

We should not give up anything. We are not so highly compensated now to even consider giving anything up. If the company wants PBS, it's gonna cost them. Just like if we want one more day off, or better work rules itsgonna cost us. Some of you seem to be under the impression that mgmt is you're friend! Haha! They will say anything to get you to bend to there demands. It's like Stockholm syndrome with some of you clowns. The only thing that makes ASA more expensive is the fact that we are a really senior group, nothing more.

I would gladly reverse years of blood, sweat, and tears from our fellow pilots if it means I can continue flying jets...

I think we all should take a pay cut....

The next time SH is in recurrent, why don't you just service him right then and there? I am sure he would be so appreciative that he would exclude you from any and all upcoming cuts.

management needs a paycut, not us-it's their job to make money given the costs associated with the business

Most of the G/O has taken a pay cut. Inflight pay is already low with the turnover rate, that and they've reduced longevity by firing a lot of senior f/a's. They've also eliminated many positions. Wake up, it's not CT vs the union anymore. We're all in it together.

Dual qual and PBS may put a small dent in our cost but at what cost to the pilot group? The main reason our cost is so high is how senior our pilots are. We have one of the highest paid contracts with one of the most senior pilot groups, what is there not to understand. We cannot be the second lowest DCI contract without gutting our pay which is not going to happen so why give away anything? Managment talks us into it and in a year nothing has changed except our quality of life. I am not unwilling to help us grow but the fact is unless we have a max exudus at the top of the pilot group which also will not happen nothing we do will put our cost inline with Peenuckle or Mesa or Republic. If Delta want's us to be here we will be, if they don't we won't. It's that simple.

No, we can't force a mass exodus of pilots, you're right. However, we can certainly put dents in our costs, and we must if we want growth. We're not going to get any growth is a senior pilot group with high costs. We don't have to gut our pay, but running a more efficient and leaner pilot group lowers costs, than yes, we need to do that. Is it not our responsibility to do our part?

We forfeit the right to complain about competitors wining our flying if we choose to sit on the side and not compete.

problem is . .those senior guys at top, don't care if we grow or not.... what motivation to they have? talk to any of them. they're not worried. They don't think we could end up like comair...

So you think putting a dent in our cost will win us more flying, or your just hoping so? Going from 10% higher to 9% will not do it. PBS equals more efficient by needing less pilots, are you saying your willing to furlough to do our part?

well, if we cave like this management will always just say how terrible things are going and we have to do this to stay in business...we'll never improve our wages again

True...I had one senior Capt. on the 700 tell me a few years ago when SKW was transferring our planes.

"As long as we have 10-700's in the fleet, it won't affect me."

Comair Pilots bent over backwards giving into MGMT wishes with the promise of NEW GROWTH! And the return on the Comair Pilot's concessions are what..........chirp, chirp, chirp............! It worked really well there----NOT!

i remember that too... I've been here 8 years.... just pointing out that out senior guys dont care if we furlough another 300 on top of the 150... dont care about reserve, etc.. ask em... they will tell you. " ahh, we could never turn into comair... we are in atlanta, etc, etc"... the more senior we get, the more likely we will eventually become comair..

Probably something to that....

I'm pretty senior, and I very much want to grow....Not all of us at the top are that short sighted....We very much need to worry about growth.

yes, and you are in the minority... truth is... if we cut capacity by another 10 %, it doesnt effect the top guys..very few, excluding yourself, see it for what it is...
