If you want to compare politics, I can move this thread to the N-A forum and you can have at each other!

You're a MOD and you want to single out me in this thread? Take a closer look and see who introduced politics in this thread first. I don't care what you do with this thread - it's your forum.

To the rest - it's been said about both bush's, and Reagan - I'll throw in Teddy Roosevelt who actually had a green agenda.
BUTBird has a point- you do either think the constitution is a living document designed to be modified and adjusted with time- or you're a strict constructionist. That's another debate. I'll just go navy v AF- show me where in the constitution it forbids the president from addressing kids. It's transparent- rush wants Obama to fail- and this is another way you can try to cut him down.

As far as UAL goes- good luck-

One other point is hopefully we will start to see the end of the fee-for-departure contracts with the regional jet operators. Subsidizing money losing routes with expensive small jets is becoming more noticed in the era of collapsing revenues.
This is an interesting proposition, as it leads us back into government-subsidized routes and small, individual operators running them at what would be a loss but backed by government subsidies.

How many routes have to fall to that before the federal government looks at how much they're subsidizing air travel again?

Hey Andy, welcome back!

To the political people, take it somewhere else. If you want to discuss how Obama will likely bail out UAL, fine. You start talking all the other crap, take it to N/A. There's a REASON I don't visit that forum. I'm here to listen and talk about AIRLINES. Not whether Obama can talk to kids in schools.

Jeez...

I would be so sad is UAL closed. It would be terrible for CAL, we would probably grow too much.

Hi!

I won't view United as dead until I see a lot of asset sales. That's always the precursor. So far, no asset sales.

I thought that, basically, all of UAL's assets were already leveraged to raise cash, so that they cannot sell any of them?

I was thinking the same thing ual....I think he is still selling his assets waiting for the run on the banks.
