To all of you union boys who vote in lousy pay and rules at the regionals. Congrats!

Another low paying career is evolving in this country and you boys are making it happen. What was a great career is truning into a slave labor industry. Low pay, crappy work rules, time away from home and family.

Keep applying to Gojets, Colgan, Republic, Pinnacle, etc.

The I gotta fly at all costs so when I turn 50 and secure a captains seat at a major airline so I can finally earn a good salary is working out just fine.

Who do you work for now? Where did you fly the ATR and E145? Where did you fly the 737? How much did you make as a CFII?

MGMT has it all figured out. You make 12k as a CFII so you will gladly make the jump to 18k at the regional.

It is time for tire irons, basball bats and 5 minute educations.

...and then gladly make the jump to CAL for 30K and no health insurance to fly a 737...SJS comes in different forms...

I think this guys a bit late to the party, this ********************s been going on for DECADES, not really a news worthy event.

Not really, flying at a regional meant just that. Flying a turbo prop within a region. Regional flying used to be such a small part of airline operations.

Now your low paying regional flying jobs, fly mainline routes and now fly 50% of the flights in this country and is dragging the majors pay right down with it. The great major job that all of you are working crap wages to attain is quickly dissappearing.

Rgional flying used to encompass 10% of the flights in this country so you had very good odds that you would have a great flying job at a major ahead of you. Not so much now.

Even the good regional companies pilots are fighting for their careers due to the onslauught of the Mesa's,Gojets, Republic, Colgan, etc.

Just look at Comair, Expressjet, ASA, American Eagle. They have all reversed the trend of better career progression due to the bottom feeders mentioned above. As time goes on the lowest bidder will win, majors will turn more flying over to the lowest bidder, there will be fewer jobs at the majors and those jobs that are there won't even come close to being what they were. I predict that 75% of the domestic flights will be flown by regional airlines in the not too distant future.

So keep voting in contracts with $18k to $60k payrates and soon the jobs will be filled with people who love to fly but have to live in the parking lot at the airport. Keep voting in crappy contracts just so you can gain experience so you can get to that major airline someday with a crappy contract itself.
