I have been employed at AirTran for several years and find some decent people there and some of these decent people have vexing short comings......RACISM persists in their freaking red neck veins.

News flash . . . . Calling someone a "Red Neck" could be considered racist, too.. . . . Basically, "code" for white southern male. Why don't you just consider people at face value? If someone is acting like a Shantiquabonita, or a Jethro Mushmouth, I don't really have much time for either of them.

I've always found that to be true.

Hypocrites cry "racism" then will turn right around and complain about Redknecks or Indians or whatever they're p*ssed about. ANY slang that defames someone based on their race, religion, or locality in the country (i.e. "Redkneck") IS bigotry - it's all the same thing.

Three of my best flying friends on the planet are black, two of them read these boards and we know who we are on here, and I sometimes draw heat because of my LACK of support for EEOC preference in pilot hiring. They also know I'm THE LEAST racist white guy out there and we all had this same discussion one night.

So why don't we get OFF the racist bandwagon, realizing that most of our common experiences with TSA agents, regardless of sex, race, or religion, are usually with people with sub-100 IQ's and a grudge against accomplished flight crewmembers, so we therefore automatically assume they're ALL like that, even though I'm sure there are some that aren't, and leave it at that?

Jeez,,,

There are cameras at every major airport security screening station in the country. For the authorities to rip this person out of the cockpit they probably covered themselves and checked the tapes. They also probably cross checked the stories w/ other passengers and other TSA agents. With all your psychic abilities use a little common sense its goes along way. Oh and by the way as former Marine I've worked with A LOT of Marine officers over the years if you guys don't think this guy could lose his cool you guys don't know what the F^%K you are talking about. Those guys don't like being told what to do. I've seen plenty of senior Marines physically assault AND DO WORSE to other Marines for "perceived disrespect."

This falls on deaf ears, but I agre with you. TY and PCL refuse to believe individuals can act out.

I still stick to my speculation that something indeed transpired. There's no way this TSA agent had this guy arrested for nothing. I'm not saying a delay and arrest were warranted, but some form of altercation certainly ensued during security.

WTF . . . You, Sir, are an idiot. None of us knows what happened, period. It could have been his fault; but NO ONE KNOWS yet.

Hee-haww! Hee-Haw! All hail the "F.I. Braying Jackass of the Week", Amish Rakefight.

Of course no one here seems to know exactly what transpired, but there is an article out with some details. Based upon that, one is free to interpret these findings.

It's sad you feel anyone who speculates upon disseminated information is an idiot. Who are you to decide what comments are acceptable or not concerning this incident.

Applying your logic, to say nothing happened is just as speculative as to say what may have happened based upon the article. You're making an assumption that this guy smoothly passed through without any issue and was unexpectedly dragged off his plane for no reason at all. That kind of asumption is disturbingly unrealistic.

Red neck isn't "code". It is an obvious rip on someone that means not only are they a racist white male but they fail to understand the war "of northern aggression" was lost and those who support it are traitors to their country.

Making fun of someones name because of their origins and than attaching a stereotype meaning to their name is much different than using the term - Red neck. I'm sorry your so sensitive and demand from me political correctness. I have no PC in me - I call a spade a spade. But if it makes you feel better I recant my last statement and say to you:

Look Fellow FIers, I don't think making fun of someones name, because it has an African meaning is very nice. You can't help what your named for one, whether your name is Billy Bob or Tamika you will be judged the same by me.

Listen, Red Neck is a word used a lot around my "neck" of the woods south of ATL on the 161 Radial at 25 DME or more. It was always interesting to me that the county over from Spaulding called Pike was the red neck capital of the world the people in "spaulding" county were the upper east side. Then you have the ATL folk that thought Spaulding was the Red Neck Capital. So where ever you are and whatever you think the "Red Neck" is you might just need to take a step back.

I agree, unfortunatley, with TWE pilot that don't judge. Also, I have flown with him and don't want to piss him off. Its bad. :)

One thing I havent seen talked about here yet is that this is a TSA "Security" checkpoint. SO lets see I went through KPHF a couple of days after this alleged "Altercation" and there are security cameras there. So there will be tapes of this reguardless if it helps the Pilot or the TSA agent. That is what I would like to see.
