Kind of like the ones at Delta, Northwest, American, US Air, Continental, and United???

:erm:

When an airline goes bankrupt or airplanes fly into buildings there is little a union can do. A union is not cure-all but I could sleep better at night "with protection".:)

You hit the nail on the head. ALPA is not a cure all for everything, it's simply the best option for pilot's to unify and and make improvements for the majority. It's not perfect, just better than the alternatives. The ALPA bashers seem to be more focused on what is best for them and ignore the big picture.

How did that work out for the union airlines?

A lot better than if they hadn't had a union. What you guys bashing the "union airlines" don't seem to grasp is if the pay rates are raised at all it's because the "union airlines" raised the bar.

CBC compared JetBlue to only Union Airlines. Maybe they should have only used non union and we would have taken a pay cut instead of a pay raise.

These non union airlines still have better health care, retirement, OJI, LTD, M/A etc than JetBlue with its new pay rates stolen from the efforts of union pilot groups.

Good for the Jetblue guys/gals, at least someone raised enough stink to get a raise.

Now if those Delta pilots can keep Moak from selling out on the 100 seat aircraft, oh wait I can fly republic al la codeshare. Sweet !

hopefully the cycle will continue.
Jetblue pilots looking down the nose at union pilot groups while stealing the work product of their unions.

How else can we make the case for many of these issues. With ALPA, APA and SWAPA all we could do is jump up and down and point to Virgin American and ???

We suck.

I guess the UAW guys/gals at GM, Chrysler and Ford are making out great on their concessions too... A union has no clout if your company is in quicksand. SWA for many years had the best contracts for a narrow body fleet because their company has been healthy-- it will be interesting to see what happens in the near future with their current financial issues.
