pros & cons, each frac brings something to the table.

Exactly. All the companies have strengths, and they'll appeal to different customers. Some want only the lowest price. Some want specific airplanes that steer them to one operator (the CL300 at Flex, for example, or the Legacy at FlightOptions). Some want to be able to go transatlantic occasionally. And so on.

I think one of NJA's strengths is the size and availability of its fleet, which also gives it a big advantage when it comes to recovering from a mechanical issue. That's important for many of our owners.

As an example, we had an inflight mechanical issue recently. It was minor, but required us to land short of our planned destination. We notified the company, and they had another plane at the FBO to pick up our passengers less than 30 minutes after we landed, because they were able to reroute another plane that was already in the air positioning for another flight. I was impressed, and our owner was very relieved that we got him on his way so fast.

Last tour I had the pleasure (insert sarcasm) of doing a static demo for several prospective owners/card holders.

One question that kept coming up was recovery time should something happen to the plane.

With over 100 XL's in the fleet and hundreds of other planes NJ certainly has an advantage over our competition, especially in the Northeast.

The sheer volume of a/c we have is a large factor.

Of course $$$ is very important and a huge factor and this is where I believe AdvantAir (Sp?) may be position quite well especially for those people looking into smaller planes, BE400's and 500 series cessnas.

Just an obseervation.......

You DO get what you pay for.

NetJets must have components in the TOTAL PACKAGE of what it offers Owners that justifies the cost... as does every other Frac.

Let the salesman do his/her job.

Past experience with the NetJets fleet, company and employees will speak for itself.

There is no need to get defensive and aggressive about you company...

or is there? I don't know.

There are several choices out there. An intelligent, wealthy individual makes choices like this all the time. This is just another decision.

I am not sure if they guarantee a cs tail, but nowadays, I bet a cs tail is available due to the downturn. I would assume, when this crisis is over and hopefully all the pax and more return, this plan will be revised. Companies have to adapt to the current situation, and it seems cs is doing it and flex plans on doing it.

Stealing a phrase from wannab0133, thanks. I think that answers much of the questions here. It's not a CS or FLEX thing, but a business decision to produce business. It's ECON 101 at it's best. They have the aircraft and are trying to make good of a bad situation. It's now different then any business that see low profit and/or customer interest and giving a shack to their business plan.
Hey, good luck to them.

I would imagine that if nj started losing owners left and right to the competition, they might reconsider. We are all WAAAAYYYY below the paygrade that makes those decisions.

According to customer service polls, CS usually ranks 1 or 2 on customer service...Things seem to run a bit smoother at CS and FX because they're smaller, its easier to keep 400 pilots on the same frequency as oppose to 3100.

you might get better customer service at CS or FX, but with Marquis you get access to the entire NJA fleet, including NJE.

pros & cons, each frac brings something to the table.

Where can we look at customer service polls? What frequency do the pilots need to be on?

As far as customer service, I have no idea where anyone comes up with one has "better cs service" than the other. Witnessing all in action, each seems to be attentive, on time and professional to all owners. The only real diff I can see in customer service is recovery times. Obviously the bigger the fleet, the faster you will probably be rescued.

As far as Marquis, all I have heard is they sold a record number of cards last year, I guess that says something. We will have to standby to see if the gimmicks at other companies work and Marquis needs to adjust. For now all you can do at your respective companies is provide your owners with the best there money can buy and hope we all keep our jobs.

I am not sure it makes Sense for Marquis. It is a separate company ...

It make make sense for NJ to fly for a loss but why would it make sense for Marquis? Also through EJM Charter into the mix....

Not sure any pilots know exactly how it all works together....

Does EJM charter or just manage?? I know we use them to supp our lift sometimes, but do they do that for other companies as well?
