I heard Comair's fleet will go down to 80 aircraft over the course of 2009. F/As with 6 years or more seniority can expect to be furloughed if that happens, so I was told. I know most here who read are pilots but just thought I'd post this to see what you think.

It's the first I've heard of it, but it won't surprise me at all. They've already posted some of our owned 50 seaters for sale online, not just the lease backs that we are "letting expire."

What is the actual staffing model they use? Meaning, how many crews per airplane? Or perhaps I should ask, do they use a staffing model at all?

Flight Attendants get the best rumors.

Although I wouldn't doubt it.
If it were true, Comair guys...don't you have a min aircraft in your contract?

Yes, we do have a min aircraft number in our contract. Having said that, I do not know what our "min" number is, but DL and OH haven't been bashful about violating the contract in many ways for quite some time.... so a significant fleet reduction doesn't come as a surprise to me.
