The other night, we went out to eat at The Original Steak House in South Florida. It had closed. I just got a tax information sheet that says a condo we own dropped $50k in value in 12 months. The mall here other than a holiday weekend resembles Death Valley during a heat spell.
The economy is great.
There has been no announcement of any kind regarding 300 cancellations. We're still on track for 3 deliveries this year.
Texas overall is doing very well compared to the rest of the country. There was a list published on CNBC.com not long ago that was comparing the economy of every state. Texas came out on top. We haven't had the crazy rise in real estate like the hardest hit states and thus not the fall either.Malls are packed in San Antonio. Home values are UP! Again! I try not to go out to eat in the evenings because its hard to find a parking spot and when you do the wait to get a seat in restaurants is too long for me.
First year teachers salaries are going up 20% this year. They are building giant size first class new High Schools.
Yiiiihaaaagghhh
Yes, and old news. Every fractional is deferring aircraft deliveries due to significantly reduced owner demand. Yes, even netjet.
As GHW Bush said, "It's the economy, stupid."
NetJets has not slowed. We have maintained the delivery schedule.
Is there any correlation with your delivery schedule and the guy in the other thread complaining about too much standby and multiple airplanes sitting around? Are your EJM managed airplanes getting as much sell-off flying as they used to?
Hey Captain Dad,
You obviously have not worked for Netjets that long if you still believe anything OS says or one of our sales reps.

NJA is deferring some new aircraft deliveries. They are not maintaining the "delivery schedule" of which you speak. If you believe otherwise, you are drinking the grape Flavoraid.
What's your source? You work for NJA in what capacity?
CaptainDad's sources may not be entirely reliable, but they are from inside the company. So where does your info come from?

flyzimex said it was 17 - you say it's three. That's a really big difference!!!!!
So how many are expected to be delivered in 2009? Last I heard was around 17, was that before the cut back?
How many are you getting next year? Are the old BE 400's going away with the phenom coming in, or is flops going to get more pilots?Late 2009.
No idea about EJM. Some fleets are sitting more than others. Most seem quite busy.
The plan is like surfing. We are in between waves right now and getting organized. The break is nice though. Sales are up, flying is down a bit but that is actually a good combo to make money in the fractional business.
Times are good. "We get paid to be available, not to fly." A wise man said that once. He had many in his Cast.
Are most of the guys on the X going over to the 300 or are some of them staying put? I was told by someone who is in contact with the pilot recruiter, and according to him XO will take a few DEC on the 300 but the FO's will be taken from the X and being replaced by newhires.
I understand that the pilots are happy getting a new type, especially the 300, but out of the company's standpoint they will then lose lots of experience on the X plus the cost of retraining.
Any truth in this information?
Thanks,
FZ
