every once in a while you'll fly with that one captain that micromanages and tells you not to read anything in the cockpit. Ok, fine, so I pull out the aircraft operations manual and pretend to read that, daring him in my mind to say anything. Childish, i know, but he started it!

The silliness of the "no reading unless its company related" policy, is that if you're reading a company manual or a USA Today, you're equally distracted either way.
 
I just download books on my crackberry and read those. If asked I tell them I am working on my log book. LOL
 
in the crew rest- have at it. at the business end, it would generally be considered unprofessional.
You are a tool. I hope I never have to work with you.
