PCL.... You obviously haven't seen the company's projected earnings for 08.. $24 million loss for Q1. And a $22 million loss for 08.
Oh, I've seen it, I just don't believe it. They're playing the classic expectations game: talk incessantly about how poorly things are going, then when things don't go so bad, the share price makes a big leap on the "unexpected" news. Hundreds of companies do it every quarter. It's just part of the Wall Street game nowadays. I think we'll tread water or lose a few million, but nothing like the $22 million that they're claiming. Time will tell.

Alright.... You maybe right. That is what happend in Q1 of 2007.. But I don't see how AAI can make a profit with the price of fuel what it is. Common sense tells me that...... Especially not in Q1. We will know on the 24th....

Like I said, I don't think there will be a profit. Probably somewhere between $-9 million and $0. I just don't see a $24 million loss happening.

What is more disturbing than the O2 canisters is the on going criminal activity at Airtran...

LOWEST FO PAY IN THE INDUSTRY!!!

Low Cust serv pay, low manager pay, low ops pay, low supervisor pay....only Fornaro's been getting rich lately.

Ain't just the pilots that want better wages.

Guppy, were you just not shown enough attention as a child? What's with the hate-fest?

I'm betting on a narrow 1st quarter profit including the asset sale of the 737's plus the record load factors that seem to be posted every month in the 8k's.

I'm betting 2nd quarter results are neutral with heavy travel demand continuing through Spring Break and the first week of peak Summer travel.

I'm also betting that fares come up with the disappearance of some of the providers of leisure travel (ATA, Skybus, Champion) since airTran focuses quite a bit on the leisure traveler and a $10 to $20 fare hike would probably not make or break travel plans.

Thus, I see a brighter 3rd and 4th quarter performance than the company is painting. Could be wrong, I have been before, but I'm betting similar to Whataburger, with a $2.5 to $7.5 Million profit for the year.

Who's running the bets? ;)

Ill run em.... Theres no way AAI will just break even in Q2. Q2 has always been AAI's money maker. If AAI breaks even in Q2 they are really screwed. AAI is going to need a 15-10 Million profit in Q2. Hate to say it guys, but its gonna be a bath in Q1. Fuel prices are twice what they were last year, and AAI only made a $2 million profit for Q1 last year. The load factors are indeed higher, but not nearly enough to offset the rediculous gas prices. It may not be a 24 million loss. But I would say 15-22 is gonna be close (not including the sale of the 737 build slots). F.P. said those slots will save 12 million.... I think everyone's gonna get a huge suprise when Q1 profits start coming out. I think its gonna be bad, very bad.

Ya ya doom boy, back to your ST-71 model

TO ALL TRANNES:

Don't fall for all of this gloom nonsense, management WILL get a raise this year, no matter what the "bad" news is. They will be taking it from YOU!!! Be tougher than before, and for the love of Pete, DON'T LISTEN TO PCL PUKE!

We started negotiations over three years ago. They've just dragged out this long. Not a good time to be in negotiations, but we'll make it work.
