Even more lame, seriously you say that everytime you reply to my posts. i dont need a CFI lesson from the GL. How exactly do you know about the 145 FMS and how that will "haunt" me?:rolleyes: Oh and the "real mans airplane" comment has never been said by me so that must be one of your ego issues coming out again. I suggest you get over over inflated self worth, its actually pretty embarrassing.:erm:

Hey, if you don't want to take my advice, then fine. You really should though. The days of brainless navigation (via the FMS) are over. Before you do IOE, I am just suggesting that you look over the charts, SID/STARs, things that you haven't had to look at before. No screens to back you up can be a pain. Your situational awareness goes down the toilet. You are welcome.

Bye Bye--General Lee

Superpilot92 has no idea what he has in store for him. He got used to flying an advanced E145, and it probably made him lazy, like anyone flying an advanced FMS airplane. He will have a wakeup call, and it will be tough. (until he learns how to just ask for a heading)

Bye Bye--General Lee

Again another ego post from the moron known as GL. I have no idea whats in store for me?? I hate to break it to you toolbox, but i am just about done with training. Training wasn't tough bud, it was actually quite enjoyable thanks to the wonderful training department we have. Are you implying that everyone who flys an aircraft with a "gasp" FMS cant really fly? Does that include you? Get over yourself, your posts make me want to hurl:puke: . It may be "tough" for someone like yourself but not for me, thanks for your Concern though.:rolleyes:

Well you just proved to everyone that you think its tough to use charts or fly without an FMS. You may not use charts when you fly with an FMS but i assure you i do, even when flying a "brainless navigation" aircraft. After all that is my job is it not? Your Captains must love you :rolleyes:.

You sound like a little kid. Why are you getting so worked up by General's joke? That DC9 is an old POS and nobody wants to fly it. I flew a Saab that was more advanced than that thing. The General knows that he can get under you skin and it obviously worked. Hey at least you're flying that POS at a great major airline.

Hardly worked up my friend, its all in good discussion, usually ;)

If this is true, I would rather see Delta go lean in the summer rather than furlough eventually. No need to see people leave current jobs, in hopes of greener pastures, only to be unemployed a short time later.

Good luck guys and gals.

I don't know why people view Delta's hiring slow down as a failure or something negative... In reality, it displays great management discipline - they are doing what's prudent in this economic climate. Do you blame them????? Delta has hired something like 800-1000 pilots in the last 1-2 years and that ain't bad... There is no need to waste resources when they are not necessary or when uncertainty exists.

Too sad that anything these days happen with DL, everybody would jump at the first chance to bash on this board, rather than have a healthy discussion.

Guys, lets give the monkey poo fight thing a rest.

Truth is, that all of our employers are going to have a challenging summer and junior guys at just about every carrier are going to have concerned conversations with spouses over the dinner table.

Good luck to all of us, regardless of what decisions were made hundreds of miles away in a boardroom, or over a phone line to a MEC Chairman.

Seems like DAL is pretty much close to what they said at the start of the year as far as hiring.. 400-500 hires projected..
Jan=70ish
Feb=70ish
Mar=100ish
Apr=70ish planned
May=70ish planned if 2 classes r run

So about 380 or so by close of march, not too much this summer as announced then hopefully the balance this fall...pretty close to what was expected..

380 or so by the end of March, with two classes to come in April and one or two in May. That will put them pretty much at the original numbers they have planned. Further, a pause in hiring over the summer was always a part of the plan.

sorry i meant 380 by end of may.. but never the less thats pretty much right on schedule with what was planned... pausing for the summer and starting up fall will put them exactly where they forecasted...

Are you talking about your future workload on the DC9? Have you studied for a SID/STAR review yet? Do you know how to fold your charts? You might want to learn quickly. That E145 FMS will haunt you. It was soooo easy to get lazy in that plane, and now you will have to WORK. But, it is a real man's airplane....keep telling yourself that.

Bye Bye--General Lee

ONCE AGAIN, the "little man" Corporal Lee has to put others down to bring himself up.

Apparently he's better then most of us because he flys (actually copilots.......yes, captain...right away captain) a "bigger" plane then most of us.

It's sad to see someone with a personality disorder belittle others to elevate themselves.

A sad (and odd) little man he is.

NO Delta pilot has ANY right to comment on the navigational skills of a NWA pilot.

NWA was flying piston airliners across the No. Pac. when Delta was still trying to find its way north of the Tennessee River.

NW was NEVER in danger of losing its N. Atl. authority becuase of numerous excursions. Delta cannot make the same claim.

All in good fun, of course. ;) TC

Don't forget the record number of attempts to land at MacDill AFB enroute to Tampa Int.

Every prior military dude knows you go to AF bases first. They have the best BOQs.

Probably....

In the terminal, paging General Lee. General your other shoe fell at the security checkpoint. Please return to the security checkpoint to pick up your other shoe. Paging General Lee.

The General is busy.... Spanking off to Teen Beat magazine at his LBB overnight!

P.S.-General, you keep stating that you enjoy the "banter" around here..... I don't think getting your teeth kicked in by 95% of the people here time after time qualifies as "banter." Might want to check the ol' dictionary on that one-IDIOT!

Please let your doctor know that you are off your medications... You are sounding crazy.

As long as we are poking fun...at least the DAL guys that were off the NAT tracks didn't blow over the legal limit.

NOT MACDILL. I took a crew there for an Aero-med trainer and my LM and crew chief told me their rooms were hot, full of mildew, had no AC and had cans of bug spray on the counters for mosquitoes.

Keesler? One building is decent. The others are horrid.

The AF ain't what it used to be.

How many wheelchairs do you have to order from OPs inrange at RST? I think the most I ever had was 23 going from PBI to BOS once.

Bye Bye--General Lee

Wheelchairs, not so much. The pre-op trannies on those flights are probably right up your alley though, General

... Hey Diesel9, how's your gate agent lady friend in NRT doing? Is she telling you that all Japanese people love 757 Captains, and that Northwest is still "Tokyo's favorite airline?" ...
Hey wait a minute! When we fly to Narita the ladies there tell us that we (UPS) are their favorite airline...

You mean women can lie? :eek:

This is what their initial plan was for the year. S few months ago they upped the number. They have gone back to the plan they had late last year.
Expect to see DAL open the window later this year again if things do not go to far south.
They are stopping hiring now. They prefer to be a little short for the summer than fat and have to furlough is things get really bad.
One the issue of A/C There are some 88 and 757's that are up for new leases. If they cannot get the least rates that they want the will dump them. Their are options to pick up other aircraft in the near future to replace them if need be.
There will be a slight reduction in fleet size, but it is not permanent.

Actually I think they are airframes that we own. We own just over 300 aircraft and lease 145. That was the last current count last month.
We're selling some of the first 75's and 88's we got. They are a wee bit high maintenance last I heard.

Surprised you opened this pandora's box:

On Saturday, June 19, Northwest Airlines flight 1152, an Airbus A319 en route from Minneapolis to Rapid City, S.D., carrying 117 passengers and five crew members, touched down smoothly just after noon. Trouble was, they weren't in Rapid City. They'd arrived at Ellsworth Air Force Base, a military airfield six miles from the Rapid City Regional Airport.
September 5, 1995 - A Northwest Airlines DC-10, bound for Frankfurt, Germany, mistakenly landed in Brussels, Belgium, approximately 200 miles off course.
2 :D :D Miles? At least they landed in the correct country, oh, yeah, right, um, well they hit Europe.

Here are some other favorites:
October 15, 1996 - A Nations Air 737, bound for Orlando, Florida, mistakenly lands at Sanford Airport. See "Airline's inaugural flight lands at wrong airport in Orlando," Tampa Tribune, October 16, 1996.
and
October 17, 1995 - An aircraft chartered on behalf of the White House press corps, bound for Kelly Air Force Base in Texas, mistakenly lands at San Antonio International Airport. See "Press plane lands at wrong airport," United Press International, October 17, 1995.
Try keeping that one quiet.

Yeah, but everyone knows that Delta stands for Don't Ever Land There Again. Not Wright Airport doesn't have the same ring to it..:D

jhomo is the same doosh posting here as jerk406!

737

Jmoney has waaaaaay too much time on his hands during his Valdosta overnights. But, they are a bit more "productive" than his Flint layovers. Man, I am jealous.
