I feel dumber for having read that ridiculous analogy.

notice the use of beer to lure and distract the reader.... it's designed for those who don't use critical and objective thought...

I know its tuff

I feel dumber for having read that ridiculous analogy.
For those who understand, no explanation is needed. For those who do not understand, no explanation is possible. For those who want to tax the rich, check out the history of English fiscal policy under the labour gov't from 1946 to 1975 when Maggie came along to save the country

.....actually it is you that is trying to distract the reader from the critical and objective thought that this analogy presents....

Would either you or PCL128 care to illustrate any flaws in the analogy.....or would you two just prefer to spew your wealth envy class warfare BS......

The analogy is spot on.....

The analogy doesn't give any information about the men. How much money does each of them make? Does the 10th man make $500k a year while the first four only make $10k a year? Or are all men on equal ground? It makes a difference. Also, beer isn't equivalent to schooling, health care, retirement, etc... These are things that are necessary to a functioning society.

1. The actual amount that each "makes" is irrrlevant to the point of the analogy....Those who make more, pay more money in taxes, thus when they get a tax "cut" they get a larger tax "cut" then those who make less......

A 10% tax cut equals $100,000 per year for someone who makes $1 million per year......For someone who doesn't pay any taxes, that same 10% tax cut equals $0..... The left wing spin is that the tax cut favored the "rich"...... The left would rather take money from the wealthy and redistribute it to the "poor".....

2. Fine, change the analogy to "education, health care and retirement"...... the analogy still stands.

By the way, "education, health care, and retirement" aren't "rights"......they are responsiblities......there is a huge difference.....

The federal government shouldn't be involved in any of these programs.....

From Wikipedia....

Socialism refers to a broad array of ideologies and political movements with the goal of a socio-economic system in which property and the distribution of wealth are subject to control by the community.[1].

Sounds like what PCL128 is advocating........

I can see I'm debating with a real mental giant here. [/sarcasm] Universal health care is not a socialist program. A single-payer system is a socialist program, but no one is proposing that. The programs offered by both Obama and Hitlery are still private insurance programs. The government is not taking over health care. You should actually read something for once instead of listening to Michael Savage and Neal Boortz all the time.
