Exactly. I can't find a single Pinnacle pilot that is getting an NWA interview. Seems that you first have to leave Pinnacle, then NWA will take a look at you.

My understanding is that there were a couple of PCL guys in the second and third classes. I was also told there are a few XJ guys in the class that just started. If I'm wrong, i'm wrong. Won't be the first time.

Funny

I never attempted to work at Northwest. They would be lucky to have a pilot like me grace their interveiw with the present work rules. I am trying to enjoy life and not listen to somebody tell me how I am lucky to have a job in a company with terrible work rules and pay.
We have to stand up as a pilot group and fight for better work rules and pay. By the way as most of you would have figured out by now I am a Delta Pilot. Best deal out there for me. And believe me my phone was ringing off the hook.
I must agree that Northwest has some alright guys. But it is not good enough to just have a few good eggs. 1 rotten apple in a basket of apples distroys the rest. You need to be more selective in your hiring practices. We at Delta are very picky, Very proud of our Airline and always trying to become better. Our Pilots are involved in management.
I heard of a 10yr B757 FO at Northwest leaving for UPS. What drives such a level of unhappiness. Folks our industry is in a crisis and we must stand togather for better work rules. I should not be so unwilling to merge with Northwest. I am the way I am becos I worked in that system and I know the people who work there and how they get treated. I would simply not even consider the place.
Sorry if it hurts your feelings. But folks even my Delta captain I am not here to just follow, I am here to help lead this industry towards a better place.
Funny...I have a lot of DAL friends that have been there a long, long time and you don't sound like any of them. You sound like a snot-nosed noob. Let me guess, still on probation?

That is my point. Some FA's at Northwest steal. That was a stolen bottle of wine given to you. I am almost certain it was not a holiday!

Yep. So do some FAs at Delta. I highly doubt they like you enough to toss you any free stuff (let's continue the fantasy that you actually work there for a minute...), but I've walked off more than one Delta flight with gratuitous service items.

What's your point??

You wish! Just be honest and accept that you wake up during your 48 hour layover in Minot wishing you are a Delta Pilot.

Not. NWA was my first choice having grown up in the DTW area. I was hired at NWA one day and had a DAL interview the next - I called them up and told them I would not be attending - that I had a better offer (really)

It is a dream you can make come true. We are hiring! and be honest the merger would be a career advancement for you.

So I'd go from a NB Captain to a WB Captain? Hmmm. Somehow me thinks not.

I wish you the best and if we merge despite my ill feelings towards the merger. Drinks are on me! We treat our fellow employees nicely

Believe it or not we do too. Pretty hard to buy a drink if you are a new hire at NWA.

Best of luck to all of us, hopefully independent...

I always went to the gate at KSTL to stop the NWA gate agent from turning away jumpseaters from AA and other Airlines.

Thanks for that tidbit....now I KNOW your full of S@#t. I know the STL agents VERY, VERY well. Very.

You are a CLASSIC Flight Info major wannabee. Must really suck to be you.

There were several PCL pilots that were hired pre-9/11 that didn't make it to class that were called back for interviews again and got the job. To the best of my knowledge, they are the only PCL pilots that have been given a shot.

Ok. That would make sense, given the timing of the classes they were in. Again, I stand corrected. I suppose NWA is reluctant to exacerbate an already bad staffing problem from hiring away from their affiliate carriers. That's unfortunate.

Conjunction Junction......

AWESOME I mean Pinnacle not Northwest?!
Delta treats regional pilots in their system nicely and every new hire class has a crowd of ASA guys in it.
I enjoyed working at Pinnacle and I know that quite a few Northwest people treated us really badly. Espercially gate agents. Stop defending a bad situation at NWA rather seek a solution. I always went to the gate at KSTL to stop the NWA gate agent from turning away jumpseaters from AA and other Airlines. The way you guys treated JETBLUE a few years back was a shame. But it got fixed. You can fix this also.

I agree, speedbird is a crusty noob-box! I think he is actually proud immigrant from places elsewhere:

"DAL treated us all nicely when we all immigrate from Uzbekistan. My sister is #1 hooker in country!"

"I am leaning US-American enlish talk. In few months I shall learned to conversitate with all US-Americans, even those in Iraq and South Africa."

-It is VERY NICE here, I am making of many good comrades!

High fife!!!

Why would a Pinnale pilot want to work at NWA. They already:

-Fly our DC-9 routes
-In planes NWA employees paid for
-NWA pass Privilages
-ALPA
-NWA bag tag come on!

I tease!, I tease! I'm sorry I couldn't help myself.

Guys/ gals It has always been this way (the hiring). When I was at Mesaba years ago they did it to us back then. I hope they change it around.

PS- Speedbird, I think your an FA......Your talking about blankets a lot........Blanket party anyone?

Funny how you see PCL pilots (much more than XJ) wearing more NWA badged stuff than most NWA pilots and trying to impress the PAX when non-reving

They DO sell PCL/XJ specific tags in the Stopover Store......

You know you are a real pilot when you stop being impressed with yourself for being a pilot......

The future of any airline this year is not good. Already we are seeing soft bookings resulting in decreased load factors. International traffic is also modestly slowing down. This will result in cosolidation and smaller airplanes.

I second that .....the STL agents went above and beyond MANY times to help me and other Jumpseaters.

Very true. Reminds me of the old saying: The only people that think it's cool that you're a pilot are little kids.....and other pilots.
