YET ALL YOU IDIOTS (SKYNATION, ETC) ARE JUST DROOLING AT THE CHANCE.

lighten up, Francis. who is drooling? I hope we don't grow anymore, we're already too big. If you, however, live in the fantasy world that tells you that we get to dictate all that happens, tell the Leprechauns and magic elves hello for me.

what I heard and repeated is that we're getting 700s for them to do flying that they don't currently do nor could they do with their 73s.

you have to find something else to piss and moan about to keep your self loathing intact. plenty of blow hards here to help you with that.

Boy am I glad you put that in the huge font. I would never have grasped the gravity of the situation otherwise.

Did you ever consider the fact that Southwest now has anti-RJ commercials running right now? That they've always flown only one type of aircraft? That maybe it's all just a stupid rumor? I have and therefore I don't really care.

The reason I have to use big font is cuz' morons that we have over here don't really get it. That no matter how many times other people tell them what their lack of knowledge about this industry, what their selfishness, what their absolute stupidity - is doing to the careers of all of us.

Whether or not it is a rumor, you should VERY much care about what guys are thinking and saying. Apathy is inexcusable.

So, your economic analysis of Southwest says that just because they are running some ad campaign about small a/c that no one will really remember in 3 months they won't EVER change. Hmmm....Wow.

How about the facts that their fuel hedges are disappearing.
That they are having to start competing on a more even level with the rest of the industry because of this.
The fact that oil is at $90+/a barrel right now.
The fact that they have the highest paid passenger airline pilots.
The fact that the customer has seen the "patented" $39 specials happen with less frequency and availability, and the SWA passenger would love to keep seeing those fares being offered.
The fact they are expanding like crazy.
The fact that they got to where they are now by taking risks and taking advantage of certain market factors.
The fact that it wouldn't be THEIR pilots or company flying an rj, it would be us.

Yes, now that you said it - I am certain that the shareholders of SWA care more about whether or not they have a 30 second t.v. commercial on at 2 am on the Sci-fi channel then actual real market issues facing their company and real solutions that they maybe considering implementing in order to stay at the top of the industry. Not to mention putting more $ in their pockets.

Yes, that's it. A commercial.

No, sir you said..."I heard this rumor a month ago. EMB170s out of DFW for OO after AMR restructures Eagle. I hope not. I hope the SWA one is true. Gotta be a reason they want us to vote on the yet to be announced pay package before years end."

From Wikipedia...."Hope is a belief in a positive outcome related to events and circumstances in one's life....

I didn't say it - you did. I am just saying that hoping that "the SWA one is true." is not the hoping we should be doing. Hoping it DOESN'T happen we should.

Oh, and I live in the real world. A world in that I know that we don't get to dicate ANYTHING that happens to us. We have uncle Jerry dictating what happens and there is nothing we can do or say about it. "We" did that to ourselves.

I thought this thread was about American Eagle?

Does anyone else find it funny how worked up people get over these stupid message boards?

sort of funny, sort of sad.

oh well, back to enjoying my life.

The Reality....

SWA is never going to outsource their flying. Ever.
If anything, they will buy a bunch of CRJs and fly them under their own SWA banner...part of their own fleet.

As for Eagle? Better off without AMR greed running the show. I just hope AE takes this chance and runs with it, never to look back.

Couldn't this be a really good thing for Eagle? It seems to have worked out at XJT...if it is just the same kind of thing, an IPO, why does it spell doom and gloom?

It only spells doom and gloom for those who want it to...some people will never post a positive thing. It will just generate cash for AMR.

An announcement is suppose to come by the 2nd. week of Feb. I guess we just wait and see.

It does not really spell doom and gloom. But with the uncertainty many do not want to wait around and find out what it spells.

You obviously don't know much about this industry to go throwing around "never" and "ever".

SWA will do what it needs to do to make a profit for the shareholders.

an RJ painted with SWA colors and not flown by SWA pilots will be a disgusting step downward in this industry
