Yeah, but mission accomplished for the hedge fund guys. The stocks rallied on the unsubstantiated rumor and the hedge fund managers made millions.
Only if they sold their stake.

How is the General going to spin this one?
That guy can put a smiley face on anything!
-Never really liked having my butt vacant anyway....
-My cornhole was feeling a bit lonely of late......
-Wow-I didn't really fancy the idea of being able to sit down for about two weeks anyhow....
-Well, it ain't really butt rape if I'm still smiling-is it?
-Not that I am happy to see this stuff go down, but General-honestly, denial ain't just a river in Egypt....
Only if they sold their stake.
I would rather have an "unemotional" CEO who actually knows something about making money in this industry--which we have with Anderson--than another who puts on a good face to Congress, while he acquires massive debt to buy scores of RJs, fly 777s to Orlando and Tampa, and generate multimillion dollar payouts to execs who leave just before the BK filing--all which happened on Leo Mullin's watch.
Where do you come up with that last statement? Are you sure about that? Sounds like you followed your clowns at Indy Air right into the ground. Anderson made the statement that he and Delta are not engaging in talks with UAL, but are looking at strategic possibilities that could help Delta. I think you are still smarting about your crash and burn at Indy Air.
Bye Bye---General Lee
Delta just issued a statement to CNN saying it is NOT in talks with UAL. Go figure.
No GL I'm still smarting about the treatment I received from NWA when I worked there. After my experiences there, I wouldn't believe anything any executive says that works there, or anyone who spent a large amount of time there. I learned the hard way not to believe a thing they say, but what they do. They play a very hard game, and will screw the employees at every turn. If you don't think Anderson will screw over every employee to enrich himself and the shareholders then you're really swilling way too much of Anderson's kool aid. The die was cast for DL when the Board chose Anderson over Grinsteins hand picked successors.
As for the Indy Air crack, as a rule I never wish any ill on anybody (even Mesa) because I know what its like to go through strikes, and have the rug pulled out from under you when can least afford it. However General I will make an exeption in your case. To all the other DL folks, I wish nothing but the best for you, even though I think Anderson will prove to be nothing but a snake in the grass. General, for you I wish nothing but the worst when Anderson gives you guys the screw, hopefully a nice staple from UAL.
General, you truly are a discredit to your profession.

I guess you don't understand ALPA or any carrier that belongs to ALPA. There would never be a staple between two ALPA carriers. Please read more about pilot unions before making silly comments like the above. You need to stick to serving peanuts.
Yo Sonny,
At least you'll be able to bid the Mad Dog once again! Unfortunately, it does not lay over in LBB.
Good luck, hope this ain't coming true.

You're right. Alpa would merge two seniority lists where everyone is happy. Kind of like the America West and USair situation right?

Who said everyone would be happy? I guess you too don't understand the ALPA merger policy between two ALPA carriers. Is there ever a Staple of whole pilot groups when two like sized ALPA carriers merge? Go back to LBB.
Bye Bye--General Lee
As sad as it is to say, you're right, but partially. I think ALPA leadership has outlasted its usefulness!Alpa has long outlasted it's usefulness.
It appears that this one (UAL and DL) is not coming true (denials on CNBC and Press Releases are pretty good evidence), but another merger could be in the works if it adds value to our company. Some Hedge Fund companies want something else, and it is pretty obvious.
Bye Bye--General Lee
I wish I had another LBB overnight this weekend. A couple weekends I harvested 12 dove and 4 quail and ate at Cagle's Steaks. Thanks for caring!

Strike one was welcoming back the scabs from continental with hugs and kisses!
Strike two was taking a poll (on age 65) and deciding, that after the membership majority wanted status quo, to change their stance and support age 65!
ALPA still has wonderful resources, like aeromedical, and safety, but its leadership has done whats best for its leadership!

Spanker:
The cuts agreed by any alpa carrier were agreed by the association, or the majority of the membership. Something you wouldn't know about since you don't even work for an airline!
Its kind of like this. The last time your wife was passed around the squadron, your buddies all assumed the risk, thus voting to continue sharing her, even though 10 out of the 40 guys said they didn't want to they had to because majority ruled, got it?
That's something that AIRLINE pilots deal with.
How's that SW job app coming along?
737PYLT,
GROW UP!! or go find a site with 12 year olds on it, something on your level.

If you make personal and professional judgments based on one's persona in front of a congressional testimony...well you need to get out more.
General,
This is the EXACT same staement that was made when rumors started flying about the TWA/AA merger, about 4 weeks before it was officially announced. Of course their going to deny any talks, why would they confirm them now, it would serve no good. Believe what you want about your beloved Delta, but you better consider the possibility that a merger of your airline is a viable option somewhere down the road.
Cheers
Hey is the Depot Beer Garden still there? I loved that place. It was always full of hot Texas Tech girls.
