When this event happened a year ago, I gave to the ALPA relief fund immediately.... can any of you say that? If so, good for you....

I dont think that he had a choice in suing them. He was being sued by everyone and his attorney probably had to try and deflect the blame.

obviously the best plan would be to let all the lawsuits come out against him as well as medical bills and then declare bankruptcy to wipe the slate clean. that would be the easiest thing to do.

You cannot file bankruptcy on this kind of lawsuit this one sticks for life.

Look at the big pictue people! As long as these ridiculous lawsuits go on, we all pay for it! Whether it's higher insurance costs, products costs, medical costs, etc. YES! There is a stake in all of us for this. If you don't see that side of it, you are the fool.

By the way, if I was in his shoes, I would have probably put a gun to my head already. I don't think I could emotionally handle a bunch of blood money hungry vultures coming after me, especially since they know all that he has endured. He has just sunk to their level with this lawsuit.

Just to clarify; you think that suicide is at a "higher level" than filing suit?

The reason he is suing the lighting company is he can't sue the airport. The airport recieved a gift when a Fayette County judge ruled that the city's sovereign immunity extends to the airport, thus the airport cannot be sued until this is overturned on appeal (which it likely will be).

I don't see how anybody who watched the NTSB hearing on this is surprised by Pohelinke's actions. This crew was given no warning the taxiways were changed the night before. There was nothing on the release, nothing on their Jepp charts, and nothing on the ATIS. Both of the flights that departed before had notations on the release about the taxiways. Even the Eagle FO admitted to the NTSB he was mometarily confused as they were taxiing out. It was one of the most contentuous NTSB hearings on record, with two members filing the NTSBs version of a dissenting opinion (including the one who was the onsite investigator in LEX).

This does not excuse the crew's failure to notice the incorrect heading. But it also should not allow others with culpability in this accident to walk away unscathed. Hopefully Pohlenke's suit will direct the attention to some others that deserve blame in this as well.
