My 2 cents worth

The best i've tried so far:

Llano, Tx - Coopers (man i miss that place)
SAT - Blanco Cafe (Blanco Road) or Alamo Cafe (more touristy)
DRT - Crosbys, Across the border in Acuna, MX
SSF - Stinson Cafe on the field
SDF - Mike Linnings Seafood (once saw a helio land across the street in a field to stop and eat)
DAB - Inlet Harbor at Ponce Inlet

Anyone with recommendations near DAL and FLL?

Define "near", but as far as I'm concerned, Llano is close enough to justify going to Coopers for BBQ.

Just don't bust the Crawford TFR on the way down! :p

Fll

Going to be in FLL next week and looking for something exceptional, (price is not an object). Will be at the Marriott Waterfront and would prefer to walk or cab it since drinking and driving in a strange city is a bad idea. The yacht show should be in full swing so I would imagine everything good will be packed.

Thanks, in adavnce.

FL350,
Yahoo has what you're looking for.
I once flew for a restaurant company, their idea of catering was Subway. I earned so many stamps, my family eat as much of that stuff that they wanted.
"Free stuff doesn't pay the bills, money does"!
A pilot friend I know.

Let's see: All walking from hotels.. or a lift from the FBO..

Steak. best in the US? LittleRock, AK the steak house attached to the Hilton.. Get a 15% discount from the front desk.. Free shrimp on the salad

KAPA CO: Chickensalad sandwich, The restaurant on the field above the FBO.. Better than Rudy's catering..

Midway ILL: Hilton, great restaurant great dishes

Boston MA: Hilton, concierge lounge free King Prawns, Wow..

Butte Mont: Prime Rib, the petite cut is 20 oz the King cut 40 oz, The lamplighter- Mom and Pop steak house; Outstanding

Well this is all I can recall from a week on the road.. Spend that per-deim...

Sorry, but this is the best restaurant near Midway:
Bobak's Restaurant and Sausage Company

5275 S Archer Ave (Cross Street: Between Knox Avenue and Kolmar Avenue)
Chicago, IL 60632-4731View Map

Giordano's Pizza is a close second.

NJAOwner,
Since I grew up in West University, I know all about Goode Company,(drop the E). Goode Company is easy to get to, its in a city with a freeway. Although Coopers is great also, when in Tow,(sounds like cow) we always make the drive to Llano.
You wife knows goode :) BBQ.

Go to the Las Olas riverfront. You can't go wrong. Get an outside table (if warm enough) and just people watch while you eat. You'll like what you see!

SDL - Pink Pony Steakhouse, Most tender filet, sides and ambiance are out dated, cheesy lounge act that can be entertaining, reasonble price, been in business since the 50's. Elis Bar + Grill corner of Scottsdale and Shea awsome beef tenderlion sliders for lunch, singles bar at night. Salt Cellar- steaks and seafood, pricey but good the place is underground. Ruths Chris, can't go wrong there. Houstons, chain but good. Oreganos, awsome pizza and wings.

DFW - Sonny Bryans BBQ

ORD - Gas Light grill in the Hilton, don't know if its there anymore but awsome steaks, smokin hot waitresses wear fishnets and teddys ambiance of an 1800's bordello. Pricey.

MEM - Rendezvous, best damn ribs anywhere!

Just a few places that I like

Have to disagree with you about the best steak. The best steak is at The Copper Grill in Destin. Get the cowboy ribeye and a side of mushrooms. Nothing else ! You won't be able to eat it all !

I have to second the BOBAKS in Midway!! After putting in a fuel order and grabbing a crew car, that is always our next stop.

Just tried Bobak's. Very interesting. I ate 12 things I've never heard of, 8 which I hope not to eat again, but still worth the experience. For the food, I'd still rather drive up to PWK, and eat at Bob Chin's, but the Polish experience at Bobak's is educational to say the least, especially to an Idaho farm boy like me.

And yeah, I do like dragging up a thread from months ago, and no, I don't know how to quote in a new thread.

Perhaps one of the 12 was Kishka, my favorite (blood Sausage).

Anyone headed to DXB, check out the Cyclone (for entertainment, not for the food).

We'll have to give Mastro's a try.

On a recent trip down memory lane, I took my daughter to the Five Crowns in Corona Del Mar telling her that I had used it for a date restaurant while in high school and college. She looked around then said, "This visit must be very nice for you - it looks like all the same waitresses are still here."

Ouch!

That's hilarious. Some of the hottest honeys anywhere are in that area even the seniors are plucked and primped and on parade. Also a great spot for riding I have prob put 1000 miles on my Harley back and forth between there and Dana.

Okay, now if all you want is some nice "honey's" to serve you dinner you have to go to "Bone Daddy's" in Grapevine, TX (on the north side of DFW airport). Ask for a seat at the bar (although I doubt you will find one available). That's all I am say'n. You can thank me later.

Oh yea, I'm glad y'all liked Bobaks @ Midway!

Just ate at Saltgrass Steak House near DFW. Great rare Filet with Gulf Coast Seafood topping and a few margaritas. Best part of the deal, the Station Mgr at FSI paid for all of us!
