Check out www.flyertalk.com and go to the AA Advantage section where they are talking about American pilots asking for a 30.5% pay raise. You'll see what they all think of us all. They think we are greedy, yet defend managment bonuses.

Also....holy schnikes! That board is tame. I said management rapes employees and I got a ban warning! I can only imagine what the mod would have done if I said what I REALLY wanted to say. I asked the mod to ban me anyways because I thought I was gonna stroke out reading that thread. Then, I would lose my medical. Do y'all think SWA/FO would take care of me if that happened?

Wow, more nerds than FlightInfo. That site should merge with the airliners.net forums.

Somebody should post the link to the interview that was done with the UAL employees that documented their raping during the UAL reorganization. I can't find the link otherwise I'd do it myself.

It still amazes me how doggone ignorant people can be when it comes to this profession. Why do people pay so much attention to airline salaries yet they don't bat an eye when they pay that plastic surgeon his 1000 dollars an hour to put boobs in their wives chest? Or the ton of money to that family law guy to get them through the next divorce?

That site just made me have more disdain for airline passengers and people in general.

You truly must not know of what you speak. While I do from time to time have bad experiences with pax, I must admit I absolutely enjoy flying people to/from their hometowns. I love seeing the kids on the way to Disney, the spring breakers on their way to FL, the gamblers on their way to Vegas. It is a wonderful thing to connect with your customers, and believe it or not it happens at jb all the time. The fact that you endlessly show your disdain for HUMAN BEINGS tells me how well-suited you were for flying with one dude and connecting with inanimate objects. I certainly feel that what I do makes a difference, because I see it on my customers' faces. You on the other hand must spend a lot of time making that enormous a$$ of yours look good in Brown.Just kidding of course, no thin skin here on flightinfo. Right?

We get it Megadeath, you hate passengers.

Having flown cargo and pax MD11's at my current gig, I much prefer fly pax.

To each his own.

Dude! A size 16 is NOT enormous! :bawling:

I am very well suited for flying cargo....thanks for noticing....I love it.

Although, I truly think that anyone that thinks the way you do in reference to passengers, must be smoking something reallllly good, I say, keep it up! My fiancee wants to fly cargo and hates the pax as much as I do. The more people out there with your sentiments, the less competition for him. Keep up the good work!

FIANCEE????!!!??? You have a FIANCEE??!!?? Boy.would I like to meet this guy. I mean,I never met a human sacrafice.....

No kidding. Probably had 'em snipped and is wearing them as earrings.

I used to worry about how we're perceived by passengers, flight attendants, etc. Then I realized that no matter what you say or do, people are gonna whine. So I figured the best way to handle it was to completely disengage.

I no longer try to justify my salary to anyone who isn't wearing stripes on their sleeves. I don't care anymore if the rampers, agents, flight attendants, and passengers hate us...

Someone on another site gave some good advice. When they complain about a landing, just tell them to come up and talk you through it next time. When they complain about your salary, tell them they have no idea what your job entails and they therefore have no idea of your value.

And if that doesn't work, just smile politely and tell them to STFU...

There is someone for everyone!

Like a good wall street stock... marriage will increase your "Street Cred". Staying married will do so even more....

You have waaaay to much time on your hands! Shouldn't you be studying for recurrent or something?

Hell, I agree with her.

Passengers, overall, have become whiny, demanding, vapid blobs of flesh that we have to somehow pacify while doing our jobs.

Our flight attendants deserve double the pay they get for having to put up with them.

My favorite saying is: "Passengers check their brain at the curb." Cattle... and I could do without them very easily.

I also dislike people in large numbers. One on one I can have a great time out with the crew, interact with restaurant servers or hotel desk clerks, but as my t-shirt says: "Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups".

Freight would be a nice way to finish the balance of my career. The only apps I have on file are with the big 3 cargo guys,,, I don't even fill out my SWA app anymore. Did some soul searching and realized if I can't get back to cargo, I'll just stay put or go International ExPat where passengers are still civilized.

Everyone likes different things. "To each their own", and all that jazz. ;)

Amen bro! Amen.

She hates people.

No, sugarlips, you are wrong.....I hate lazy people, I hate passengers, I hate non-contributing members of society, I hate LIARS and I hate people that actually defend murderers and rapists and care about their rights......oh yeah, and sue happy people.....oh yeah, and people that look for others to take care of them. Other than that, I like people. Unfortunately, the above is about 90% of society.

There should be an FI quote Hall of Fame, and you sir should be nominated for a top spot, right under FAR Part 91.3a.

I agree with you 100 percent. A person is smart, but people are stupid.

There should also be an FI Moronic Quote Hall of Fame, and the author of your tagline should get top honors there.

That's a lot of hate wrapped up in one person. Seek help. I don't wanna see you on CNN after you have a melt down.

Boxes don't bitch. I too hate deadheading. If I see one more fat ass couple in gym shorts and tank tops at the airport, it will be too soon. No wonder the rest of the world thinks we are pigs. You pax people have my respect for putting up with it. Me, I'll take my fat check, cup of coffee, and red eyes any day.

My personal favorite quote from that "flyertalk" thread:

"Can AA do this also? Hiring a lot of foreign pilot and forget about union?
I like AA, but I don't want to pay 30% more airfare."

This is a perfect example of the self-centered attitude that the average American consumer has. "I don't care if Wal-Mart uses sweatshop labor. After all, I don't want to pay more than $20 for a TV!"

On the other hand, there are a few people on that site that are defending the AA pilots. Not everyone is a self-centered jackass. Just most of them. :)

I don't even want to see the boobs that cost $1000 an hour. Where do they do it that cheap...Mexico?

That's just the surgeon's fee for the 2 hour process.

Doesn't include medical facilities, aenesthesia, or the implants themselves, plus support staff, required medical supplies and cleanup, pre- and post-op, etc.

$2,000 for the surgeon sounds about right. 3 procedures a day = $6,000 minus 40-50% for overhead (office, insurance, etc) and he/she pockets about $3,600 of that, 2 days a week in surgery, the rest at the office doing consults and follow-ups with little or no charge (income).

Right at $28,800 a month in their pocket or $345,6000 a year.

Picked the wrong profession, didn't we? ;)

Yeah, my 28 year old little sister makes nearly THREE TIMES what I do as a nurse aenesthetist and regularly makes fun of the money I make. I'm just glad to let her buy dinners and pay me back for the car I gave her to have in college. Life's good like that. :D

You have waaaay to much time on your hands! Shouldn't you be studying for recurrent or something?

Sadly, yes I should be studying for recurrent. I DO have way too much time on my hands these days. Ever since I got this sucky freight dawg all night flying job all I have is time. :D
