Yeager, put down the bottle. Jerry can't afford to let ASA die...he needs our experienced Captns. for Intl. flying. His low time hiring is about to bite him in the @ss. ICAO is now 3000hrs and a lot of his pilots that are able to upgrade...don't meet those minimums!!

What int'l flying? You mean the flying Delta gives him? That they can give to someone else or take back to mainline?

Wake up, "chest thumper". Takin' it back means mainline takin' back the flying they sold and gave to us. We're about to see the industry cycle in the upswing where the majors are drunk with cash and can afford to fly 737s and Maddogs to our cities. DCI is being set up to fall, as an excuse for mainline to take that section of the flying back in house. Delta's E190 rate, and the coming demise of Comair (sans certificate) don't help our cause.

Look at the big picture. We had to refuse deliveries of airplanes due to lack of crews. Yet management is still encouraging pilots to leave and firing flight attendants left and right. The writing is on the wall. ASA isn't long for the world. Jerry has confirmed his opinion that our militent chect thumping pilot group is more trouble than its worth, and he's going to reduce ASA to its assets... and still make a profit on the sale.

He needs CAPTAINS that qualify for ICAO rules, NOT Brazilia rules. They fly plenty into Canada and who knows what else they fly out of ATL and the rest. You missed the point. As usual. Jerry doesn't OWN any int'l flying. If Jerry lacks the crews, Delta will just transfer that flying to someone else who does. Like Mesa or GoJets or RAH or whomever.

I'm glad you could [sic] care less if ASA is shut down (btw, the phrase is "couldn't care less"... if you COULD care less, then maybe you should). That's disingenuous to your fellow crewmembers who may not want to move on, or may not be able to due to their life situation. If you want to leave, then don't let the door hit your ass. I'm tired of your "burn it down" rhetoric given that you don't even plan to stay here. Please don't try to tank a company you don't intend to stay at anyhow, if you have any shred of respect for your fellow employees who might wanto or have to stay.

I think that Jerry has proven over his career that when he says he's going to do something, it usually happens. It's all about business to Jerry. He told the union he will transfer flying if ASA is more expensive. Yes, I believe him.

Jerry may not OWN the flying but you can bet your AZZ that he has protections built in to maintain the MAJORITY OF IT or they get back their 125million. With all those 900's they are flying, you can bet Delta wants their first class cabin going on those LONG FLIGHTS! INTERNATIONAL!!

You've changed. Your last few posts have been right on. They've been to the point and have gone after the issue not the writer. Thanks. It's nice to read a thoughtful post vs. much of the high school banter that's often offered as an idea.

It's the OLD mindset that is going to kill our pilot group while our flying lives on in the form of SkyWest- without us. If we keep ASSuming that Jerry is full of bull, we're gonna get excised.

TomCT is wedged up big D's sphincter so deep he needs a periscope. Newsflash Tom- this ain't such a bad place to work. Take a long hard look at what's around us at other regionals before you run your mouth at how bad ASA is. Yes, it could be better, but it isn't the HELL you speak of. Besides, it isn't a hostage crisis- if it's that bad, go fly at another regional, fly freight, or whatever. Even better than that- go rub your nose in some good ole' General Aviation horse s%$t to readjust your view of things at ASA. Maybe you didn't get good enough a dose of it before you came here..........
 
I agree. If ASA was THAT bad, then people would just plain quit without having another flying job lined up. There are flying gigs out there that are SO much worse than ASA that it is almost irresponsible to draw a comparison.

For those of us that want to move on; it is unfair for us to have the "burn it down" attitude. If you're leaving, then leave. There is no need to make it worse just because you are moving on to bigger and better things. We are all on the same team while we're at ASA.

Vee, are you kidding me? yeah..like I am going to make a latteral move to another regional, good lord man....wake UP! Yeah, there are worse places to work, but not many err....maybe ONE! Hmmm lets look around. Comair, better QOL, ConEx...making more money and better QOL than ANY Carrier....Skywst, much better QOL and making more money...Republic, better QOL by FAR and making more cash, Air Wis making more money AND better QOL, Eagle making more money, Pinnacle making a bit more and oh by the way....Mesaba, making more money according to their payrate on APC. But hey, we should just be happy and eat the SH!T sandwich that they have been feeding us for the last what....4 going on 5 years, yeah RIGHT! I will agree with you....someone has their head up someone's AZZ, but it is YOUR OWN HEAD up YOUR AZZ. What a RETARD!:rolleyes:
