You gotta be f'ing shting me. Get a clue. I'd post some long winded retort, but it's just not worth the effort. No one GAVE us anything. It's like saying someone GAVE you your job. Plenty of guys dream of flying for a living but have something that keeps them from holding any FAA medical. Where's your pain for them? STFU. It was the intersection of a lot of hard work, and a lot of luck. But to say that anything was given is deserving of a kick in the jimmy. As far as the $$$... I made more last year than I ever would have if I'd stayed in commercial aviation. Never mind the retirement down the road. Goddammn.. thanks for spiking my blood pressure after watching the Saints lose. You sound like a bitter crybaby.

Don't refer to me as an ass. I wasn't writing to you in the first place. I never said anyone gave you your job. I said most of you are lucky to have no ailments which prevent you from being military pilots. To knock every civy out there who never could be a military pilot is just as wrong. Especially when refering to them as someone who doesn't have the respect and balls to serve their country. Most of you have done just as much as us civys when it comes to studying and proving that you are competent.

I do have pain for those people. My roomate lost his medical for 5 years. I know his pain as good as second hand can get you.

I never said anything about money. Let me make it clear, I don't care about money when it comes to flying.
Oh and by the way a first tour instructor assingment is a good thing these days... ass.
Yeah, and with Fury220's mouth, you would think he's been in every conflict since Vietnam.

Russian...why couldn't you be in the infantry or something if your eyes weren't good enough to be a pilot? Where you the one that said "I will have balls and serve, but only if I can be a pilot"? Sounds like it...

As far as the mil vs civ...it's usually the civ dude that brings it the "respect issue". It seems to me a lot like fighter envy...

I tried. It was a no go. However, that was pre 9/11. They may waive it for me now.

I stopped trying to fly in the military just recently. Even the Army wouldn't waive it for me. Luckily, I just got a contact gig, and hope to serve my country the best way I can while I am there.

Wow...I come home WAY DRUNK from a party on a LATE Friday night and posted. Let that be a lesson to the rest of you.

So now maybe I'm the Mel Gibson of FI.com.

But seriously, folks...how did this turn into a "my d!ck is bigger than yours" kinda thread? It's not the first here, and it's certainly not the last. Blame what you want on me, but the argument was in full-swing LONG before Jack Daniels and I sat down to type my diatribe below.

Now that I'm sober, let me qualifiy my half-baked statements...one by one:

Listen here....this thread was all about how "two dudes made it out safely after a bad situation" until some CRJ pilot with ZERO SA tuned-in with a trite comment about:

"wow...ejection seats...I'd love to have that option." Seriously...that was the point of his comment, even though he chose other words. No denying that..

Let me be clear: Saying a CRJ pilot has zero SA on what's involved on a UPT Low Level navigation sortie isn't a stretch. Don't get pissed...I'm not saying he has "zero SA in general," as this is not the case. I'm sure he's well-qualified at his job.

I'm not going to talk sh!t about his job, because I have ZERO SA about what it entails. I only as that he do the same. Sarcastic statements like "ejection seats are an automatic 'Get Out of Jail Free Card'" might be entertaining in any other thread, but they have no place while we're talking about two dudes who are lucky to be alive. I don't see how a comment made in such bad taste can be tolerated...

...but then again, I'm the drunken poster in this thread. "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone..." Guess I need to hold onto my rock.

And all of the sudden, someone rolls-in with "well, keep on b!tching, because I know you're going to cry to the civies when you need to put food on the table. Civ flying is where the money is at." YGBSM..

I know your @ss will be coming to our side. Civy is where the money is.

...and we all see how pissed off that made everyone. I have plenty to say on this topic, but it's already been hashed-out in previous posts.

Brothers: Shut the F*ck Up. If you're not a military pilot, GET THE F*CK OUT OF A MILITARY THREAD UNLESS YOU HAVE SOMETHING CONSTRUCTIVE TO CONTRIBUTE.

I understand how inflammatory that comment was. It was meant that way. FI.com is just FULL of people who needlessly talk sh!t without actually contributing to the conversation.

If you're not a military pilot (or military aviator), PLEASE contribute to the threads in here. It's not our forum...we know it. But look at my statement: I was saying to get out unless you have "something constructive to contribute."

It seems like everyone read the "GET THE F*CK OUT" part and didn't finish that sentence.

And...before you get upset...think about how YOU'D feel if some young USAF Captain started talking sh!t in your Part 135 thread. Or if he started calling someone out for being a "gear handle monkey" or whatever stupid stereotype that might exist in the civ flying world.

"Get out unless you have something constructive to contribute" should be the friggin MANTRA of FI.com. We all know that most people have the opposite in mind when they waltz into a thread, shoot their mouth off, and get out to watch the ensuing flame war.

The bottom line is that this thread is about two dudes who made it out after taking a bird at high speed. They lived. Kudos...because similar situations have killed better pilots.

That is ALL this thread is about. The fact that it has digressed into something different is why I don't post more often on FI.com.

That's the really sad thing: This thread has digressed well into uselessness. If I would have known it was going to turn into this poop circus, I wouldn't have started it. Two guys are home tonight thanks to some pyrotechnics and silk, and we're b!tching about who has the longer penis.

Shame on us. Me included.

Oh, and posting drunk is really hard when you're trying to type correctly. I welcome feedback on how to post more-effectively while intoxicated.

While not directly, I've gotten PLENTY of your feedback from this post. Take that as a lesson, kiddos: Don't drink and post! :)

Inappropriate on my part. However, if mine were home when I returned from the naming party, I would have been "on the job" instead of drunk posting. Maybe it's all her fault for being out of town, lol. :)

Blue skies, fellas, and God Speed.

Double post deleted. :)

No, but it comes up a lot on this forum. I just thought it should be brought up in defense of my brothers.

So you actually got worked up and defended yourself from a comment that wasn't actualy made? There's a head-scratcher. Whether it was said somewhere else or not is irrelevant here. Focus.
