NetJets doubles Hawker jet order

Wichita Business Journal - 12:30 PM CST Monday

by Ken Vandruff

NetJets Aviation ordered an additional 48 Hawker business jets from Raytheon Aircraft Co. -- doubling the order the fractional ownership company placed during the 2006 National Business Aviation Association convention.
NetJets, based in Woodbridge, N.J., split the order between 30 Hawker 750s and 18 Hawker 900XPs. It's the same split as NetJets' 2006 order. The two orders combined are worth more than $1 billion.

"This order for 48 additional Hawker aircraft will help NetJets meet its increased demand for private aviation solutions in Europe and the U.S.," said Richard Santulli, NetJets Inc. chairman, in a statement.
Both jets are built at Raytheon's manufacturing plant in Wichita. Deliveries on the Hawker 900XPs will start this year and continue through 2012. Deliveries on the Hawker 750s will start in 2008 through 2009 on the initial order and start in 2010 and continue through 2011 on the followup order.

Your right...

thats alot of pilots needed.....if Netjets would go to home basing they would shutdown FLOPS.....almost everyone i know......myself included would leave now.....and im a 6yr PIC at flops, thats how bad it is now.

see you at 5am in the FBO.....

So true... but.

The reality is that they don't need to do this. Flops is shrinking on their own, not selling shares - only Jetpass. Owners are not renewing contracts. They are no longer competition for NJ. Its in a totally different ballgame. The operation is becoming comparable to charter and flops is operating aircraft that have the appearance of freighters. And yes.... if they had home basing I'd go in a second!!! Would they have me:-) probably not! :(

I'm just grateful that no new 400XP's were ordered.

you and what army?

how many hrs did you fly last year? I flew 250, in the 400XP

I flew about 460 hours last year, and that was with some time off regular line flying for upgrade activities and also doing IOE in the Encore.

Wow 450 hrs for the year?? I thought you guys would fly as much as airline types... 800 or so a year. Is that normal??

It totally depends on the fleet and it's age.

I flew 600-700 hours per year in the Citation V Ultra (it was brand new then)

but only 150-250 hours per year in the Citation VII (aging fleet)

The Excel is probably the hardest working fleet at NJA right now.

That's what yooooouuuuu think LOL.

It seems like half of my flights lately have been 400XP recovery flights. While I'm sure some of the 400 guys and gals like the "relaxed" workload, it would be nice to sometimes share the pain with them. :D

Too bad NJA isn't selling them as fast as SAV is "pumping them out."

Gulfstream is presently taking large cabin Gulfstream orders for 2010 delivery. Even with stepped up production and the 7 year $300 million facilities expansion under way, Gulfstream cannot meet customer demand for it's products.

FYI: NJI is the NetJets organization selling Gulfstream shares.

I would like to thank you for that. MAKE MORE FASTER

You're assuming that we would have you. Being loud in the lobby at the Crowne Plaza in PBI and wearing part of your uniform in the bar while enjoying a "cocktail" and proclaiming your disdain for your employer won't go over well here.

Besides, some of you that came over here have not been good ambassadors for the rest who might want to follow.

In contrast to old beliefs, recent research indicates that bullies act the way that they do because they suffer from unearned high self-esteem.

“Violent criminals often describe themselves as superior to others - as special, elite persons who deserve preferential treatment. Many murders and assaults are committed in response to blows to self-esteem such as insults and humiliation. (To be sure, some perpetrators live in settings where insults threaten more than their opinions of themselves. Esteem and respect are linked to status in the social hierarchy, and to put someone down can have tangible and even life-threatening consequences.)”“The same conclusion has emerged from studies of other categories of violent people. Street-gang members have been reported to hold favourable opinions of themselves and turn to violence when these estimations are shaken. Playground bullies regard themselves as superior to other children; low self-esteem is found among the victims of bullies, but not among bullies themselves. Violent groups generally have overt belief systems that emphasise their superiority over others.”
