I knew a captain at fine air,he was a DC8 captain,23 years old, gave me the j/s a couple of time ,such a great kid good stick too.i'm afraid he was the captain on the fine air crash tking off from miami never heard from him since.

Not that it's germane, (Pilotbrain has seen the cockpit of a 747 about as much as I've flown the Grumman Lunar Module.) but I did encounter something interesting in my reading today.

John Deakins (JAL) upgraded on the 747 in 1974 at the age of 34, at the time, the youngest ever, since surpassed of course, but not by pathological liars such as the gentleman who started this thread.

John flew the seven-four all the way to retirement, making him the highest time 747 guy on the planet. (Still.)

I don't know his name, but there is a UPS pilot who upgraded to the 747 at 23. I read an articile in an aviation magazine years ago about this guy. While in college he won some scholarship that paid for training in a DC-8. I can't remember if it was a type rating or an FE rating. Anyway, right after that UPS started their own airline and he was one of the very first pilots hired, on the -8. And a short time later, he was upgraded to Captain on the 747. And has probably been there ever since.

He left for Southwest.

John is an amazing fella. Glad he is still kicking around on the GIV. You guys should read some of his articles on avweb.com

Hey Kid, ya missed it by a couple of years...I talked to one of our old pilots..and he said one of the foreign airlines or cargo airlines hired 22-23 yr old street guys 20 years ago. Sorry, had a busy day and when he said who cares about it...I had to agree, went back to teaching the blind about contaminated data...

And this is his first attemp to land http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OXmWWAe_otE

Pilotbrain,

One year ago you made the following statement:

One year ago you were a skywest pilot, and had been for five years. But today, a year later, you're a captain in a B747. Care to explain that?

Or how about this post, made only a week or two prior to the last one, in which you say you tried for Skywest, but didn't get the job? The thread involves MarineGrunt, who was invited for an inteview with Skywest...this is your response regarding the simulator...

How about this one...you're the youngest captain the B747 ever...but a year ago you were seeking employment flying LR35's and King Airs in Pueblo...

In August of last year you were making twenty three dollars as a regional F/O...not at Skywest, mind you...the place where you've been for the last five years before you miraculously upgraded to be the youngest 747 captain in the world...

I think it's safe to say that any hope of credibility you might have once had, is clearly gone. Good luck.

I think at this point your best course of action would to be, finding a shotgun that you can suck on and blow your brains out!!

This crap doesn't really surprise me much. At my airline we've got one captain who lies about being ex-CIA and another who lies about being rich and having been offered a job at every airline you've heard of, yet chooses to remain here.

I used to fly the Director of the CIA to cool places and bought farmland along time in Illinois-so I might be kinda rich, let me know the guy's name (gals would have a book out by his stage)...I'll redirect satellites for any pic you want...and the CIA and farm stories are true...God Bless Ford County!

where is this dude?? No replies??

Pilotbrain uhm uhm.... I remember now, you are a gojet pilot .That figures. You can only work for one of those outfits anyway.

Ever wonder WHY you upgraded at that $hithole so early studboy???

NOBODY wants to work for them so they accept the lowest time clowns who put up with low wages, 28 days a month, crap hotels......etc. etc. Anybody worth a $hit is long gone......

I guess its a sideways step from your FO chair on the RJ.....good work!! Your parents will be proud!!!
