Just thought i would share, Most Junior Captain award went to new hires from 10/11/04 Class. So its still 2 years to hold Captain. And it looks like IAH was the Junior Base.

Also rumor is that CAL is gowing to start hiring like crazy from XJT. 30+ people a month going from XJT to CAL. That doesnt count the people going to the other carriers. Movement is good.

Now if we could just get some idea on what MGMT has on the burners. Should hear something soon. Take it FWIW.

I take it that there are no scheduled announcements?

No rumor about CAL taking XJT guys...at least 20 of them have gotten interviews in sept...thats from people that i actually know. hiring and upgrades will continue.

Block hours for next year are suppose to increase a substantial amount...we'll see what happens as usual.

Agreed,

It isnt a rumor i just stated it like that. I know for a fact its happening.

Captains and First Officers are getting calls. I know a few FOs with interviews coming up.

Why did the IAH union reps call it quits? Do they know whats coming up? Are they in the loop of a merger announcement or a new airline?

Weren't you guys adding airplanes back in 10/11/04 (ie still growing)?

In fact, when did the last delivery stop?

actaully there is a 'pool' of express preferential interviewees...150 or so that were in there in late June.......they arent just hiring xjet applicants out of the blue.....they are going through that pile.....i saw it with my own eyes....not flame...just what told by a manager

Our last delivery was this summer, late june or early july. We had been taking about 2 planes per month before that in 06.

I disagree i know numerous people who have just gotten the call for interviews that were not part of the pref interview group, and the Pref interview people are all gone already there are people online at CAL already that were outside the pref interview group.

I agree that there are alot. But those arent "Pref Interview" People those are people that are about to start getting calls. Either way is good for everyone who gets the call. and Keeps the movement going here so i can upgrade.

Good luck to you boss!

Thanks. Apparently this guy likes to brag about the low upgrade time there, but a growing carrier is going to have a boatload of upgrades.

  No one is bragging. stated the current info for those that are interested. If you arent interested then dont read it. I havent upgraded yet so no bragging here.

Congratulations to you guys. I was hired 10/04 and I finally had the opportunity to get off reserve and do a composite line (make up line of open time and reserve) as a ERJ FO this month! Of course I'm at Eagle.....

Could be worse. I spent a year on reserve and then a year on build ups (composite line) with Mesaba. Furloughed now. Oh yeah, I had class date of 9/27/04 at both xj and xjt. picked the wrong one.

We're not growing at all. By some accounts, some shrinkage may occur. No one knows yet. All my colleague was saying is that SO many (mostly senior) pilots are getting other jobs that the movement continues despite no more aircraft arriving. We'll see on the next upgrade bid if the magic "2" continues, or if that slips as well.

If there is another upgrade bid! Sure there will be more for attrition IF that continues at the present rate. However, before we start getting too excited a lot of questions need to be answered. Most importantly, what will become of the 69 airplanes. Will 25 head to Mexico as is rumored? If so will the remaining 44 XRs find a home or will we be flying them on our own? Will flying them on our own fail miserably like Indy? I'm cautiously opptimistic because I think we learned alot because of Indy but I'm not counting my chickens just yet. On the upside, I don't see any furloughs coming since line divisors are rediculously high. But then again that's Mckpickle's fault :D Just kidding my man.

When I read this thread, I was thinking about the same thing. Eagle actually had an ad in the Minneapolis paper last Sunday (9/24) looking for pilots.
