Well, my understanding is that a reserve pilot has the right to bypass a trip at Expressjet. As a result, they answer their phones when scheduling calls.
At ASA, when you get a call from scheduling, you ignore it, pull up your online schedule with a copy of the contract to see how you are getting Fu**ed, call the scheduling hotline to confirm you are getting Fu**ed, look up the FAA hotline for later use and find out who the chief pilot on call is......THEN you call scheduling back to tell them it is an illegal trip.
A reserve pilot at ASA cannot refuse an assignment. I thought Expressjet guys could.
Not true?
ASA/Skywest didn't spend the last year and millions of dollars to implement PBS just to throw it out the window.
I say still get rid of PBS!
Well, at least if it is a crap sandwich, we'll have a chance to ditch it.Many at Xjet will agree with you, including myself.
I say still get rid of PBS!
We haven't even seen it in action yet. Can't we wait a month or two before we decide to get rid of it?
I haven't actually eaten a crap sandwich, but empirical evidence would lead me to conclude that I don't want one.
If, and that's a BIG IF, the ASA system can give at a MINIMUM 17 days off for a week of vacation and more like 21-23 as the norm, stick with it.
If, and that's a BIG IF, the ASA system can give 42 consecutive days off by staggering two weeks of vacation, stick with it.
Otherwise, sh1tcan it. XJT's vacation conflict is too good to give up.
